Too cold for Butter Beans?

aussie_skye

I have an outside garden, built up about 1.2 metres...one of those corrugated iron ones from Bunnings.

I have sugar snap peas which are growing nicely, prolific carrots, shallots, Curley parsley, red beets, lettuces & butter beans.

The butter beans got nailed by an unexpected frost so I dug them out & planted more seeds but now I've been told that it's too cold for seeds to germinate...even under the cover I put up to protect from frosts...

Have I missed the window for these & if so, should I dig out the seeds & use the space for something else?
