Several Cordyline plants in a nursery in British Columbia with spots on leaves. Looks like "measles". Cause? Please help.

Are you sure this is a plantlet? It's more likely to be a sucker from the base, without roots. I would dig around a bit to be sure before attempting to detach it. Cordylines are not that easy to propagate from cuttings, but they are easy to grow from seed. I bought a packet about five years ago (v. cheap) and raised forty+ plants. I gave half away to friends, the rest I have made a mass planting with. I think they will make a very interesting feature in years to come. Plants are now about three feet high and broad, with short trunks showing already. They have all come through this last winter unprotected, even here at 1000' above sea level.

Interesting question! All of my plants are outside, so they either bloom or they don't. I have 4 different Dracaenas, but none of them have ever bloomed. I have Cordyline fruticosa on the north side of the house that seem to bloom every year. My plants get tons of rain from June thru Sept, but very little at all the rest of the year. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm also not sure if this is the plant you were thinking of - so here's a close up of the flowers, too. I look forward to answers from others.
