Keep a check on garage sales locally, stalls. Depends what you want. If Bunbury has a Bunnings, I used to get lots of bargains from their Rockingham store. My own garden is a bit new to have much in the way of cuttings and I'm in Esperance.

WA has some magnificently flowering plants! Why don't you take a look at your nearest native nursary (or native section of another nursary)? They would be perfect for your situation. The link below gives you some pictures of what I mean.

Hi VelvetRose and welcome to Bunbury WA. Hope you enjoy it over here. I have been living here for 10 years, and grew up further south in Bridgetown. It is great place to be in the SW, Perth only 2 hours drive away, great beaches down here and good weather nearly all year, as well as 4 definate seasons.
I find the SW of WA is great for growing almost anything. Roses thrive for me - just be sure to get them on Fortuniana root stock - they are worth the extra dollars (Helen's garden centre is great for roses, a bit pricey - but good strong plants on Fortuniana root stock) There is also a nice rose nursery about half an hour drive away called Mostly Roses just out of Donnybrook on the SW highway - these are are well priced.
Bunnings and BigW both have great garden centres - I find all the plants from both grow well. Just remember to improve the soil - as our sand isn't so great for gardening. There are plenty of wholesale places you can go to for a trailer of mulch or soil conditioner. I strongly recommend improving the soil, and mulching - our summer is very hot and dry, as well as the benifits of improving the sand. Glad for the recent rain - it was very welcome.
Most bulbs grow well - I don't bother too much with tulips or hyacinths as they need chilling - but they will grow well if the effort is put in. I generaly stick with dutch iris, rannucculi, annenome, fresia's etc. Perenials grow great too, as well as most trees suited to our climate. Any annuals in the garden centres grow well too - just remember to improve the soil the best you can if growing non-natives, otherwise most natives grow so well in our sand, they love the good drainage.
There are also the weekend markets - keep an eye out for these in the local thursday paper, I find heaps of unusual plants for sale at these, and very cheap too. There are also a few vendors at these markets that sell tube stock of natives too - very cost effective. Often local gardeners have their own private sales and advertise these too in the local clasified ads.
Take a walk around your neighborhood to see what is growing well - are you in an established area or one of the new housing estates?
