Just got back from a week on the west coast. Hi Laurie, the vermiculite I use is called zonolite, it is quite fine and makes for a less chunky mix. I buy it from a masonary supply place. Debbie, I don't even own a chainsaw, guess I could remedy that though. I really like chainsaw carvings, and find sand sculptures very inspirational also. Billie, my hair is much longer than the sculptures, so it isn't a real self portrait lol. Hope to make another figure soon. Cindy

No, I don't plant these particular urns because the have no drainage holes and are terra cotta. Now I have drilled holes in the bottoms of terra cotta planters before but I don't want to risk it with these urns. They are my favorites and have had them a long time. Besides, not much room inside for a good root system for more than a couple petunias and something else. I'd be lying tho if I said I never thought about planting them - maybe artificial flowers? ha I have others I plant flowers in but I'm not a very good container gardener and more often than not fail. Geraniums do the best for me. My one concern is the since the urns are up higher, my curious cat will think them a fine place to sit! Crash.

Jayne, I think that maybe you are right - I don't think that I have enough of the plain for the back but I am able to get some more locally..it may be a great decision...it is a beautiful plaid. OH GRRRRR on the studs not being in the right place. I am facing that myself with the kitty house. Fortunately I mostly need the studs to keep it from tipping over since it is tall. Not really for support . I have run into this in my own house for studs not being where I need them. It is why I let Joe hang my laundry rack. And with wet things hanging on it it needs to hold some weight. I never even considered the hinges you used. They do look nice. Is there enough slant to let longer things hang down so they are not laying on the below piece? I really love this flat design of this drying rack. And honestly with out having a dryer I NEED my drying rack. I wish he had hung it a little bit lower though. LOL He hung everything his height and I was a little more than half a foot shorter than his 6 foot.
