The floor grates that you placed the sensor was the supply? If so then you have a problem. It will take several hours to cool down but it should still be cool blowing out of vent. Should have 17-21 degree drop from return to supply for it to be working properly. If they dont want to come back out by tomarrow I would call your warranty company and have a recall sent out. It really sounds like he was not to sure what was going on with the system. Good luck

Hi Carl If the tree has curly leaf then it has the following problem... It is stressing out... Now you say the tree has curly leaf because of the cold but the cold might not be the cause of the curly leaf only the apparent cause of the stress Curly leaf is caused by a lack of calcium Lack of calcium is very common in Australia because we have (usually) acidic soils Trees which produce fruit having big woody pits such as peaches and almonds and cherries and apricots and even pears and quinces (and probably curry trees)usually come from areas where alkaline soils are the norm...they need large quantities of calcium to produce all these pits each year In your case the tree may be lacking in moisture and thus creating a lack of calcium To best solve your problem you will need to not only make the soil more alkaline but you will need to make the soil higher in humus ...best by adding decomposing organic matter This will also aerate the soil as well hold moisture more evenly and also guard more effectively against when a frost might occur...the tree has more water in the cells and can take a higher level of frost These types of trees above dislike uneven watering and the roots may not get the water while in a pot because the soil may have become water shedding I suspect that (if it is in a pot) then it has many problems....soil compaction, lack of humus content, impervious to water, root bound, etc etc You will need to deal with all these to solve your curly leaf problem cheers Peter

Hi Not sure how cold you get in Perth. The Brachychiton acerifolius will handle a fair amount of cold and frost, much more than a Pawpaw will. My Tamarillos have handles below 0C, but no frost and must be protected from strong wind. There are some beautiful Australia East Coast Rainforest trees that handle cold well and look Tropical. Target Warm Temperate ones or high altitude Sub Tropical. Ivory Curl Flower (Buckhinghamia celsissima), Blue Berry Ash (Elaeocarpis reticulatus), Black Bean (Castanospermum australe) and Riberry (Syzygium luehmannii) are excellent. They also attract birds to your garden (on the east coast at least). There are now a large number of species including a good range of lillypillies (Acmena, Syzygium and Waterhousia) in cultivation. If you can get Syzygium cv cascade grab it. It is a 1.8-2m weeping bush with stunning new growth and watermelon pink shaving brush flowers. The new foliage is very tropical and as the leaves mature they go through hot pinks, red white and then to green. If you have a frost free area, try Costus Barbados. It is an excellent tropical looking plant for places that get to a min of -1C and no frost. Looks fantastic with it's big head of deep red bracts and yellow dayflowers through summer. Also Zingibers can grow well down to Â1C or -2C if protected from strong winter wind. My Zingiber specible cv Champagne is currently in flower and has been through a few -2Cs. Protect when young and you will lose foliage for the first winter or so. The deciduous Zingibers are very hardy if grown with a dry winter. There is also all the Kaempferia, which grow well even in cold areas as long as the ground doesnÂt freeze and stays on the dry side during winter, but note snails love them. Hope this is helpful. There is a small section on Oca in the book, "The Garden Gurus - A Guide To Water Wise Gardening" by Trevor Cochran and Neville Passmore. This book is quite specific to WA gardening and conditions. I'd assume because there is a section on Oca, they can be successfully grown in at least some parts of WA and can be obtained locally. They also have a website www.thegardengurus.tv. I tried emailing this, but I got no reply - frustrating!
