No, it didn't survive last winter, Sara. I wasn't really sorry to see it go though. The blooms were lovely but the plant had powdery mildew from the minute I brought it home until it went dormant in the fall. I was really disappointed with it.

I have had Joplin on my mind so much this week, with it being the anniversary of the Joplin tornado and with there being similarities between the EF-5s that hit both Joplin and Moore. I hope that people in Moore can look at Joplin as a reminder that after the heartache occurs and the cleanup is over, then the rebuilding begins. I am a master at ignoring tall grass and weeds. I kind of ignore my flowers too while getting the veggies in, and this week I have been trying to make up for it by catching up on weeding and deadheading. Your garden sounds so beautiful this morning. I am loving the normal May weather. Here where I live, our forecast highs and forecast lows are exactly what they ought to be in May, which is great. Before all the storms hit, we were having 2 or 3 days a week in the mid-90s, and it is just too early for that. Of course, those temperatures made some cool-season veggies start bolting, and there is nothing I can do about that, but now that it is cooler, at least the weather is more pleasant as I remove them and then plant hot-season melons and southern peas in the newly available space in the veggie garden. With the way the cold weather held on so long, I keep wondering how it can be almost Memorial Day already when we just had our last frost 3 weeks ago. Maybe we'll get lucky and have a cool week or 2 or 3 before the June heat sets in. Dawn

I had a top mount sink with an offset drain AND faucet before and loved it. With the new remodel, just completed this week, I could not find an undermount,SS offset drain that fit my 30" base. I put the faucet in the middle to line up with the drain this time, but not sure I like it---seems to stick out too far and be in the way. I have a feeling that when I am working I will be turning the faucet to the side to get it out of the way. Too soon to tell yet if I really dislike it since I'm not really using it yet..have to get everything moved back in.

I'll just put a cap on my truck with grow lights wired into it & be homeless, driving around w/all my plants in the back. Every morning I'll slide the back cab window open tell them all how much I love them. Don't worry, I'll tell them. Dont think of it as being homeless- think of it as going on an adventure! A safari on tour!! Yeah, that's it- I can pull off the side of the highway each day in a different place & charge admission for onlookers to view my "Wild & winderful world of tropicals & succulents!" Anyone wanna join me? We can quit our jobs, pool our resources, even sell props...& use the money for funding our next trip...and more plants...Wow- I think I have inhaled too much perlite dust & it's gone to my head.
