Yes I can say for sure I am interested in some of you sedums. I am interested in the sedum stardust, Aizoon, sediforme, and frosty morning. I can do rooted cutting for the sedums. I have sedum sarmentosum, album coral carpet, coral (when it comes out of dormancy, and green spruce. Also I have pussy willow cutting which if potted make a great pond plant and can be kept as a schrub.

I have tons of Sedum-I am just not sure what kind it is. It was here when I bought the house in May and it was growing in 3 very large balls (about 2 feet tall by 2 feet wide or bigger now that I look at it!) It is now getting flower buds on it but I have no idea what color yet. I took a photo if you would like to see it :o. let me know if you would like to trade still.

I'm bumping this thread because I just bought Sedum Matrona and have a question. This specimen is gorgeous -- not flowering but quite tall and bright green with some budding...no sign of distress at all. Soil doesn't look at rocky as some of the other found in the containers of the succulents I bought today but it's dry to the touch on the top. I bought it for a location under my 15 ft tall deck. The deck is south sun facing and the soil underneath is INCREDIBLY rocky. Like so rocky my husband had a use a jack hammer to get into the soil to build our deck. We're also on a bit of a slope. Anyway, I've been wanting to get some sedums for down there since I know some of them do well in partial shade...I can plant them next to the posts so they'll be slightly shaded/protected from excess moisture but mostly in a sunny location. Question is: How do I know if my soil is well draining? I'm assuming it is since it's so darn rocky but what do I know? The answer is: next to nothing. This is a new hobby of mine. Anyway, do I want to try and dig a hole for this sedum or should I just keep it in the pot (or get a larger one) and prop it up next to one of the outermost deck posts?

My experience has been pretty much like yours, just plant them and forget them. However, this spring I planted one too close to the front of the perennial bed, and it was receiving too much overspray from the lawn irrigation. What I did was, first, move the plant further back, then cut off the rotted stems, trimmed off the rotted section of each stem, then stuck the stems back in the ground. Probably 2/3 of the stems have already rooted now. Too much moisture is definitely the kiss of death for sedums. If your weather continues to be wet, I would be tempted to pot up the affected plants, and place them under a porch or something, where you can control the amount of moisture they receive. Bonnie
