those are very beautiful. Are they freshwater? Do you have to keep them in their own invertebrate tank? Do you rate them as difficult to raise? thanks for the photos.

Everything is so pretty Jean. The red lilies are getting ready to pop open. I always get excited when that get to that stage, I'm ready for the season! Your roses are all beautiful. And several daylilies to bloom soon! I have nary a scape, except Dumortieri. I keep looking, but nothing. I know, I need a little patience :) It is early for me to be expecting anything, but usually when Dumortieri is in full bloom, I will see a couple of plants start to put out a scape. Thanks so much for sharing your photos today. It is so gloomy & COLD here today, I needed something to cheer me up some :)

Cheers Edwin, what would we do without you...and yes, the 'Brentmoor B;onde' is a difficult plant, it's very thin branched and leggy, plus it can and does burn some summers and can look a right mess some years, but when it's good. it's outstanding. Dax, There's a bit of confusion with my 'Bor' now, since you posted the link to the Tomszak site, I checked the photo they have of 'Bor' there. Looks completely different to my plant...The strange thing is I cut away a lot of foliage from the base of my plant thinking it was bits of understock, and the foliage I removed looks very much like the foliage from the pic on the Tomszak plant, I had a problem knowing what was what, because I could not clearly see the graft union. Now I'm wondering if what I have left is a witches' broom that was growing in the center of the plant

Thanks terrene, We provide a lot of supplements to their ample insect diet... mealworms, suet nuggets, raisins, and scrambled egg. They eat all of these food sources daily and they are all vital and healthy birds. We also help to eliminate all the major safety hazards with safe housing, and (mostly passive) predator control. Missy and Mr.B have successfully fledged 41 baby blues so far over 3 seasons, and we only know of 1 lost to the wild. She is about finished building her 3rd nest of the 2010 season (her 9th) in our box. They currently have 11 fledglings in the trees, and we are on egg-watch for the 3rd nest as I write this. It's hard not to be proud of this precious and prolific pair. But we know they are not our birds... we are just happy to be their people.
