Daylily- A great peformer

This is the first year with this one and it has now got a new flower stalk and three flowers and another 22 buds

Whats that green spiky plants there is it a succulent.

Hi mistmorn I hope this site returns to its usual and re the green shrub behind the daylily's I don't know I was told it was a Hakea ??? it has green flowers the same as my red bottle brushes and is soft to touch looks lovely and green all the time and its about a metre high

I got Spacecoast Carnival for $10 from Lakeside Daylilies and really like it. Some may think anything under $25 or $50 is inexpensive, so I guess it's all relative to what you are willing to pay. What price range did you have in mind?

Oh, I just love this. The pics are great guys! I got siloam Ury Winniford, and siloam merl Kent this year. Glad I did from seeing your pics. My UW has a few tiny scapes, but my MK is a bit newer and hasen't put any scapes up yet, but it is growing well. I got Dragon dreams, which to me kinda looks like S. David Kirchhoff, but it reblooms. Ive got lots of scapes on that one! I really like siloam fine art and Tiny tim. Another mini that I really want, (isn't siloam though) is George jets on. I have high hopes for the ones I have, and would love if they turn out as nice as your pics! -Jessica

We used to be able to get mushroom compost by the truckload, but now it is only available in expensive bags. One caveat: planting a daylily in soil filled with mushroom compost is an invite to crown rot. High manure content. I would top dress plants when they are a bit established.

Pretty colour, looks like it will be a good performer. Most of my daylilies have finished flowering at the moment, they need a rest anyway because they put on such a good display a few weeks ago.
