White Bat plant in flower

I wish we could post a bit more than 60kb then you could get a better idea of how interesting/spectacular this plant is.

I'm further into the tropics than you but I think the same will apply for growing the Bat Plant. I had mine where it got quite a lot of sun at different times during the day. There was incomplete tree cover. The plant was stressed most of the time. So I moved it into filtered sun, probably the equivalemt of 30 to 40% shade cloth, and the plant really improved. I don't think it would like heavy shade.

Do not plant out. Leave in pot, do not change soil. This plant produces it's own bacteria. Leave in part shade at least 70%, keep it watered but not too much. Does not to be too dry or too wet. Can collect the seed and raise. The only feeding it gets is a squirt of kelp and powerfeed mixed together. Hope this is of some help. There is also a black and a green one. Ian

Good looking plant. Used to have the dark one many years ago but lost it when we moved around a lot. Must replace it one of these days.
