I got a naughty notice email the first week I participated in the Seed Exchange Forum, innocently doing something I'd seen done many times. In the subject line I put something like 'Trying to Reach 'username'' That was deemed to be personal correspondence and not appropriate for the Exchange Forum. Spike told me to post things like that in the Conversation area. The back story is enlightening. I was negotiating a trade wherein I was to provide a couple dozen baby palm trees. The trader asked for a photo which I sent. He then sent me one in return. At the same time I was opening it, a power surge turned off the computer and I couldn't get it to reboot. I was concerned about being a polite trader, and didn't want him to think I was a flake. So I jumped in the car and drove to the library, waited for a computer, then logged on to post and tell him I was without a computer, but would be back in touch as soon as I could. That was the post that yielded the naughty notice. When I took my computer in for service, I learned that the power surge had nothing to do with my problem. Instead, the 'trader' had embedded a virus in the photolink he sent, and that is what crashed my computer. Ironic, huh? Anyway, all that to say, with total due respect to wbonesteel's belief his posts are being deleted, deleted posts are very rare, and I'm allowing for a strong possibility he is dealing with either a technical difficulty or user error. Seriously, having been in plant marketing and also recognizing the changing landscape of business options for companies in a very dynamic business world, there seems to be no end to people forgetting their experiences, only to repeat the miserable failures at some expense of money and personal time, let alone failure ( which as Houston said years ago, "failure is not an option!") which no one wants We used to guarantee when we sold Banyai hosta plants they would grow whenever and wherever until people starting putting them indoors and in bathrooms: "they are so beautiful and I needed some color on my bathroom shelf..." but then they would die and they would say "These are not hardy!" Live and learn is necessary but learn from the experience of others. I think I am talking to myself now.....

Thanks Babs, Yes I remember her pics. This was not a planned combo as I planted the grass and hosta before the aralia had emerged (oops lol). They were planted as part of a combo in the opposite direction. I can easily move the grass and hosta if need be. But at the rate the aralia is growing, it may be years down the road lol. It did catch my eye coming around the corner and that’s when I had to get a pic. So...I’ll just enjoy the ‘unplanned surprise’ combo while it lasts ;0) Sure wish I had more of those!
