Help! Where can I find any?? Would like any of these species... U pectinifera, flavispina, or buiningii. Lester Meyers doesn't have them on his catalogue, no where else I've looked has either (other than seeds and I'm too impatient) soooo if anyone can help me with some for sale or swap please let me know! Of all the things on my wishlist this has been the most elusive...

Try www.health-harvest.com.au/ They have Uebelmannia seed. Also try the Combined Exotic Plant Show next June. Regards Didge

Hallo Didge. Am now resigned to the fact that I will probably have to grow them from seed after all... it seems my only last hope for finding an actual plant now is the Combined Exotics Plant Show you've mentioned, which has been permanant markered in my diary since visiting the Gardens last December!!

Sweet pic! (I do agree with CJ about the icons.) This strikes me as one of those pics that could have some educational uses -- and not just for a botany class. I could see this used in a class discussion dealing with photography, art, or even as story topic/subject in a creative writing/composition class.

Hi everybody. I'm from Brazil and i would like to Swap some of my cacti seeds and plants. Hi Neil, nice plants you have. Wish I could make the trek to San Diego, but muchas grande too far- I'm north of Lake Ontario near David and Rina...and to David re. Toronto C & S show- I was there last year, and going again this year. So, some tips and advice---Bring cash- liquidate as many belongings as you can if you have room for many new acquitions, you will need the cash. And speaking of cash there is no plastic transactions, if I recall, so 5's, 10's, 20's, Loonies, Toonies, ( plants are priced at even dollar #'s i.e. 4$, 5$, 6$, 12$ 21$, etc...- there is lots to buy). And it may be too late, but start working out. Begin with lighter weights, then incease to your maximum ability---the crowd is ferocous, so you will need to be fit to compete with the c &s starved crowd. Ovaltine works too. It's a beautiful place with lots of other demonstration gardens inside the greenhouses...and stay out of my way, I've been working out in anticipation :)

Have you tried Rudolf Schulz? www.tarrex.com.au He has done a whold book on Uebelmannias in habitat. Pretty sure he has grown plants as well. He can be emailed from his web page and you could ask him.

i didn't see your posting until too late, but i purchased a U.Pectinifera at the C&S&b show at mt.cootha and believe it was grown by a local member. hope this was some help,
