The frangiepani should move very easily, even without cutting off all the limbs. I don't know where you are, as my computer is doing a trick this morning and won't let me pull your page up, but everybody all over the world is having a season change right about now. This would be the time to move it, I would think. Are you moving into winter (ideal) or into spring (o.k., too)? As for cuttings, I don't know about taking huge cuttings. One inch would be good, I have seen/done bigger, but they don't seem to take off any faster after rooting. Somebody else is going to be able to help you more with this, but I wouldn't rush to cut this tree down to a stump. IMHO, Janie

Thanks for the response. Our wall across (behind the stove) is 100 1 /2 inches across. The range is 30" wide. So, from the center of the range over to the wall on the right I have (15 + 24) 39 inches. From the center of the range to the wall on the left I have 61 1/2 inches. So, it's off balance making it even more difficult to try and place 24 inch tile. Any suggestions? For the right side do I go with one 24 inch tile and a 15" tile on the end; then on the left go with two 24 inch tiles then a 13" tile on the end or break it up somehow?

I don't know about cutting them while still blooming, but my neighbor cut theirs after it was done, and stuck it in a pot of gravel in another part of the garden. It looked nice for a long time. I have a spent flower spike on my desert spoon she wants me to give her to do the same thing with.

Just got this plant off craigslist because it was only a couple bucks and I've been wanting one like it for a while. However, it's completely tilted to one side so it's too wide for my apartment. I also think it may have outgrown the pot but I can't really tell if they're just aerial roots. I'm just wondering if anyone can offer advice on how to make it a bit smaller and straighter without messing it up. Including the pot it's about 5 ft wide and 3 ft tall. I would really appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
