Growing Monstera

Hi guys and girls. I have had a monster seedling for about half a year, growing in my room. I read some where that they like to grow on moss poles and climb. So I planted in a larger pot with a moss pole I made from coiling chicken wire and filling it tightly with sphagnum moss. I recently injured the poor plant accidently by dropping a brush on one of the leaves and it snapped off. I was wondering if a young monster like mine will survive loosing a leaf like that? and also if I have built a good setup for it to grow and climb. I really like monster and its one of my favourite plants, but I don't know much about how to keep them happy and healthy. I water it twice a week in summer and once a week in winter and it gets bright indirect light most of the day. With maybe a little full sun in the morning for an hour or less. Any opinions would be helpful as this plant means a lot to me.
