What are Garden Web doing now.

HI everyone ...I have been puting photo's in the Hortiplex Database lately also had a few in "My Journal" in "My Page " Then I find this afternoon that one photo has disappeared from the Database and My Journal and now it is evening and all of the "My Page" is gone.

So I looked at a few others , the same thing is happening, too bad if you want to e-mail a member...I hope this is fixed up when I get on line tomorrow as I feel like a goose having posted all this info about a rose and there is no photo there, it makes me wonder what will happen next!!!!! They will fix it up I suppose and then I will look like a double goose.......Cheers..MM.

my member page is up and running.

when i opened the forum page this morning i had been logged out (not by me) so had to log back in again?

Hey Sue, Welcome back to posting again, we've missed you. Do I read the "what's new on Garden Web banner? Yup, always do. have learned from experience that is where we are alerted to problems going on and info that we should be aware of. Like the one that is posted right now. Very cute wording to it too, I might add. "UPDATE: Wednesday, 12:00 ET: Who let the garden gnomes out? The partying got out of hand last night and they managed to bring down one of our servers. The Gnome Hunters have been deployed, but will need to turn off all posting for a few hours this afternoon (time tbd). Ouch -- that hurts, we know! Stay tuned for further updates. I like the simplicity of the GW basic black-and-white format (and hate the recent incursion of ads/ color around the edges). I find the formats of other garden forums I've looked at to be too 'busy', distracting from what I want from a garden site. - i.e. to talk gardens and plants with other gardeners. I like and use the text emotion conventions, such as :-) , but don't like the colourful icon ones. Being able to upload multiple pictures from your computer would be useful, although I don't find it particularly inconvenient to use a photo hosting site since it keep some of my garden photos on one anyway.

I just posted this by grabbing the html code on Flicker and copy and pasting it into the text. You get to it on flicker now by clicking on the finger pointing at the box. I had a lot of problems with flicker last week with their constant changing. They pushed me into the new (sucky) BETA EXPERIENCE. Pictures are bigger but the comment space and tittle space are much small and the way to get to the HTML /BBC code is much more convoluted and enigmatic. But I couldn't get to them at all because when I clicked on the cute finger pointing at he box thing, it brought up a box but it was hidden behind the photo. I could just see its edge. I did complain to flicker and they did fix it. It took a couple of days. Now I go to that box and it pulls up a window with some weird symbols that make no sense but through experimentation and deductive reasoning I realize that the symbols mean html and bbc. One is a tac and I can't remember the other already. They are not intuitive examples of graffics. Yesterday I woke up and I found myself back in the old Flicker. So they got that part of the complaint tooÃ¢ÂÂ¦..Or maybe it was all a bad dream. I went to frequently asked questions on their help line and described my problem in a email form that they had, and they did get to it. I can't remember how I found the help line. I get lost on sites and sometimes I get lost right but I would not know how to get back there. All these changes to the worse is making me anxious and down right beeetchy. I was thinking of going to Flickriver. Apple is doing this dumbing down action too. They are screwing up all their software.

I occassionally have this issue because we have a lot of humidity and it affects all my plants, not just tomatoes, like you. I regularly use fungicide until I start seeing fruit on my plants and then I regularly spray a milk/water mixture (concentration 1:1) on my entire garden. nothing can "cure" it, but I've been told the milk keeps the spores from affecting the unaffected leaves. Basically the point is to just control it so that my plants can grow ahead of it....if that makes sense. I also discovered I have a calcium deficiency in my garden so I make sure to add eggs to my compost and I add bone meal at the time of planting.....after starting to do that a couple of years ago, the healthier plants can help keep the spores at bay.....I can't move my garden and can only do so much rotation, so I have resigned myself to accept that humidity is going to be my worst friend....but at least the last couple of years my garden has been producing well and I don't get frustrated with all the hard work and nothing to show for it.

Had the same problem, should have come here first, I thought the kids had been playing round with the settings and I spent ages checking everything.

Just checked your member page and journal MM and seems to be fine.

I presume it is all part of fixing the formatting.

Yes thats right Len I tried to get on again last night but could not get on at all.
Last night you could not even log on.

They has this message up saying there were doing something and it would be finished by 6am EST. But which 6am EST did they mean, certainly not ours, but its good it see it back on again. Have you noticed that the lines are not as long as they used to be ....

Hi GH. I just checked my Journal and the photos are back but have you noticed that to email anyone now you have to go into the my journal where before it was on the front page. Cheers..MM.

Ive just looked at mistys member page and there are two versions up, one with photo on a very dark background and one which is much easier to read but has no photo so I think there is still some fine tuning to be one by gardenweb.

Im just checked my member page and according to it today I have only been a member from today. I have also had to log on.

There are some posts in the suggestions and comments forum on this topic. There are some not-so-happy campers. Some couldn't even log-in at all and had to totally rejoin under a different username

I just did a search on my entries over a period of time and found no matches!!
