it's a fancy name for a vodka cran- 4 oz, cranberry jusice 1 shot vodka splash lime juice shake with ice, garnish with lime wedge. serve straight up or over ice
There is another recipe with sloe gin in it, but I don't like sloe gin, so I use this one.
2 oz sloe gin 1 oz gin 5 oz cranberry juice 1/2 oz fresh lime juice 1/2 oz orgeat syrup Pour the gins, cranberry juice, lime juice and orgeat syrup into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a collins glass 3/4 filled with ice cubes. Garnish with a slice of lime, and serve.
now-before you ask: Orgeat syrup is a sweet syrup made from almonds, sugar and rose water/orange-flower water. It has a pronounced almond taste and is used to flavor many cocktails. Orgeat syrup can be hard to find, but can be found in some stores that sell coffee syrups/flavorings. If you cannot find it, almond syrup is a good substitute for orgeat syrup.
Vee-I don't drink that one, as I said-not a fan of slow gin or almond flavoring-I go for the simple recipe. Bitter Almonds-ah yes, the scent of cyanide!
