The plant you are looking for is more commonly known as Dusty Miller, Senecio bicolor subsp. cineraria Now that you have its modernized name I bet it will be easier for you to find. :) Good luck with the cataract treatment. Senecios can cause liver damage if the dose is too high... so you may want to consult an herbalist or homeopath to be sure you get the dosing right!

You guys are awesome. Sure enough its a potato. To think dying cineraria and a Brugmansia that's getting mauled, and, sure enough, the one time someone dumps a potato in my yard it takes off. Thanks again everyone. This is a great forum.

Looking for Cineraria Hybridus Dwarf seeds. I prefer to do multiple trades with each person if possible. Check out my trade list and let me know if you're interested in trading. Thanks....Heather

Basically cinerarias like light shade (full sun makes them collapse), good compost, no frost. Snails love them so be aware! You can put a bit of slow release fertiliser around them or feed them with a liquid fertiliser now and then. I don't always bother if the soil is good. They will bloom in late winter/early spring. When they finish flowering and the leaves start to look a bit tatty, you can cut them back quite low. You will often see some new shoots near the base and that is a good time to cut them back. They are usually grown as an annual but are actually a perennial. So, with a bit of luck, you will get more than one year out of at least some of them. Cheers, Dee.
