Over the years, I've grown some rare and amazing herbs, and I've had some weird things happen with some of them.
The latest, I discovered today. Invisible horseradish! For umpteen years I've had horseradish growing in a large pot. I've harvested it, replanted it, and it's kept coming back. I've even had to remove plants of it which which have grown out through the drainage holes in the bottom of the pot, and some that have started growing in the cracks between the pavers on which the pot stands. This morning, I noticed no leaves in the pot, so I thought I'd harvest the root, and start things up again. Not a sign of even the tiniest little bit of root! Absolutely nothing, except one tiny little curl grub, and one small worm. Bloody marvellous, ain't it?
