Hi Grannyiu, A Marine clear sealant is used to protect boats and such that are on the water. I typed in "marine clear sealant" in my web browser line and one of the sites that came up was Home Depot - I was able to copy the below into this post. This product is in a tube like window sealant. One of the gals in the Garden Junk forum using a marine varnish to protect items that she is putting outdoors in the elements. She used a marine varnish on a garden bench that was made out of a bed frame and then she painted it and sealed it with the marine varnish. It is a stonger sealant than just a spray on type you find at Michael's or Joann's craft stores to seal your decorative painting works. I would assume Home Depot or other home building store like that (Lowe's for one) will carry the sealant/varnish in a liquid form in a paint can container and you could brush it on. Timi, one of the names will be, I think, Rhipsalis, but it could now be known by another name (things are always getting reclassified), like Hatiora. It's a jungle cactus, growing in the crotches of trees/limbs of trees, in leaf litter and fauna droppings. It needs excellent drainage.

How about white?

That's a nice frame. It could be worth more than the painting. I'd take it to an appraiser or see what your local antique dealer says. The picture is a rustic scene with a thatched cottage and children. If it's painted, it might be worth something. If it is a print that was glued into the frame and varnished, then the real value is the frame. What does the back of the picture look like?
