WOW .... luna .... those are really pretty! Great way to recycle .... so attractive and durable. Love that. I'd probably pay the $49 too, if I didn't have 2 grandsons to spend the money on instead lol. Need to show the pic to hubby and see if he might try his version .... Micki, I had an old tire rim planted with hens and chicks, and the bleepin' squirrels dug them up. I had them down at the back part of the yard and didn't keep a close eye on them. Anyways, it looked really good when it was thriving, might plant again someday and bring it up closer to the house. There was a time when many of the houses in this area had tire planters out in their yards. Don't see them much anymore. I like the idea of using them to contain the aggressive plants like mint, maybe bamboo could work like that too, but one would still probably have to dig down and put a barrier in to contain the roots. I've had that stuff almost take over my garden! Let us know whattcha do with them. ~tenderlee

You can also make bowls out of them - won't hold liquid stuff, but popcorn, jewelry, anything like that. You turn the oven on to a 200-250. Place metal bowl or pot in center of baking pan. Place record in center of inverted pot or bowl and place in oven. It will start to get floppy-looking about 7-8 minutes. Take the baking pan with everything on it out of oven. You can either use oven mitts to shape it a little more or use another bowl to put it in to shape it if you want another shape. Let it cool 10-15 minutes. Makes really cute gifts - especially if someone likes a certain group!

My DIL planned to use one to display all of her collection of old hankies ,some from grandmother & other relatives. The frame she had, had several panes so she wanted to fan some out & layer some(kind of like a quilt) I think I saw it finished & it was really nice. Son painted frame & then antiqued it by sanding in areas & put the hankies behind the glass & attached to the wall. Might have used 2 pieces of glass in each pane. Jan

Living room is gutted & so is master bath windows are 75yo double hung 6/1 - so while I'm gutted I would like to do what I can to insulate ..... any advice other than the standard what is it R15 bat thanks eileen
