You can also make bowls out of them - won't hold liquid stuff, but popcorn, jewelry, anything like that. You turn the oven on to a 200-250. Place metal bowl or pot in center of baking pan. Place record in center of inverted pot or bowl and place in oven. It will start to get floppy-looking about 7-8 minutes. Take the baking pan with everything on it out of oven. You can either use oven mitts to shape it a little more or use another bowl to put it in to shape it if you want another shape. Let it cool 10-15 minutes. Makes really cute gifts - especially if someone likes a certain group!

if it's on the old styrofoam or plastic spools, maybe remove it from those and twist it around some old wooden thread spools-using your machine- for display. you could cut out lengths of different colors and display like gift filler in a glass jar with some kind of treasure like old sewing goodies or old photos or baby shoes or toys, or pull off big hanks of it like skeins of yarn, lol. Back when I was still machine piecing quilts, I'd have a big basket full every day, and we set it on limbs and in a basket for the birds to take for nests, then in the fall we'd peek at the nests we'd find on our walks to see how far they flew with it and how much and what colors they used. kudzu Here is a link that might be useful: Kudzu's blog

For the potting shed: Find a poster of a landscape you like. Trim to fit the window. Back with cardboard. Hang on the wall of your potting shed and you'll have an instant view. For the potting shed or for hanging on an outside wall: Find a mural type, washable wallpaper scrap from dealer, one with a tall design that will fit well with the window, or turn the window on its side and have a panorama. Back with plastic. For the house or for the garden: For your mirror idea, you can also get tiles cut to fit the individual panes. The tiles can be thinner than a full mirror would be and therefore lighter. You can find a shop that custom cuts glass and mirrors in the Yellow Pages. For the garden: If painting is not your great talent, use sun-catchers. You can either hang them in front of or behind the panes or instead of the panes, depending upon the effect. For the garden: Have your children put their hands in paint and then hand print the panes. OUr Lowe's carrying a product called 'Gloves in a Bottle' that goes on like lotion that prevents the paint from bonding with the skin.
