These are a few things I've learned about gardening AND writing: 1. You never know if the seeds youÂve sown will growÂsometimes the things that look promising wither, while other plants flourish against all odds. Therefore, never assume that something will do well and plant large amounts of everything. 2. Sometimes things take longer to grow and mature then you expect. 3. The garden is never finishedÂthe work is always in process, and the process itself is rewarding. 4. One year you have a bumper crop and the next year nothing; one plant is spectacular and other things sulk. See number 1. 5. All the good stuff (gardens, meals, work and love) are better when shared. You can always ask them how many kerdi showers they've done, get references of several, and call them to confirm. Ask them to describe their methods and materials. The more detailed their responses are, the more confident you should be. Probe for details. For example, you can ask them what they use for backerboard, prompting them with the options of drywall, greenboard, cement board, and hardibacker if needed. They should know that Schluter warranties them all, should know that cbu is easier than hardi, but should have some opinions about which is best. Or ask them how they handle corners or niches. Or how the glass doors get installed without puncturing the kerdi on the curb. Probe for details on everything.

Ask him to show it to you. Most of them are clearly marked, if you look for an extra small box next to the service entrance box. I believe that a couple are built into a special breaker in the main box. If it was installed, he should be able to show it to you. If you can't get him, and it is not obvious to you, you will have to find someone more electrically experienced. Good luck Carguy

You can always ask why one is so much more, tell him you are trying to decide if it's worth the extra. And even if you can't get the exact same stone, you can still cross shop prices for similar stone. Tell the other shops you are looking at Kashmir, ask how much it runs a foot, what they have in the same price category, what they have that's similar but cheaper. Most of us are so inexperienced with these issues and buy stone counters only a couple times in our lives that questions are just fine. I wouldn't want to deal with a fabricator that didn't want to explain his pricing structure, etc. I got lucky: I just happened on a stone I loved and knew it was right for my space. The price was similar to what I'd been bid for stones I didn't care for as much, so I was able to commit easily...
