Actually, I'm not on here much myself. As for dormancy, I'm well aware of what it is, no worries. The fly trap I have sold, anyway, as the tank is FAR more full now than it is when I took that picture, and I needed the room. And even then, I have some Cephalotus and perhaps some other things that I need to sell/trade off for additional space. The tank will also be upgraded to a 75 gallon soon, with 2 x 130W 6500K PC lighting (I'll post pictures when done...probably not until after the New Year, though. I'll try to get some pictures of the current terrarium today or tomorrow. I've let some of the plants get a little out of control, and it's not as clean as I'd like, but so be it.

I'm currently growing a Nepenthes ventricosa as well as Nepenthes maxima x talangensis seeds (that haven't germinated for about a month, which is typical) under lights, by a window. I was a bit concerned because of the light that it gets. It's a SE window with a total of 2000 watts along with reflective surface in a 20-gallon terrarium.The plants are 5 inches under the lights. I'm concerned because the weak lights, and because the window is above the terrarium ; only a few strong rays shine everyday. The ventricosa is fine ; grows new leaves quite fast but only has one pitcher.. I'm getting an Oncidium twinkle and I'll probably end up adding pings, sundews, phals and paphs. Because of the size of the terrarium, I was thinking about changing my setup.. Would a unblocked, East (bordering North-East, although it does get some sun) with a table stretched out be enough? I was thinking about adding around 5000 lumens (with a two-bulb 48" fluorescent) as supplemental lighting and keeping the nepenthes and paph. in the terrarium.

Probably the easiest are those that do not require any kind of a dormancy [or rest] period. Ones which instead like warm moist conditions all year round. Drosera [sundews]: some good candidates: D. capensis, & D. spathulata lowland Nepenthes: such as N. gracilis, N. ventricosa, N.ampullaria ***be forewarned that pretty much all the neps will at some point outgrow a small terr [15 gal or less] - and most rather quickly [w/in a year or two]. Pinguiculas [butterworts]: ex. P. primaflora Sarracenia [terrestrial pitcher plants] ***same problem as w/ neps Utricularia

This does depend on a number of things, not the least of which are variables like the size of your terr, the conditions you will be able to provide, and the "look" you want. Many folks, not surprisingly, want at least a few plants that will bloom. Keep in mind that such plants often will need quite a bit of light. From the foliage aspect, there are a number of neat plants that can provide you with different textures/looks.
