How do you tell the difference between a rambler and a climber?

Basically the difference when looking at the two of them is that ramblers put out many long,thin, flexible, whip-like canes that can be bent, where as climbers canes are shorter, thicker and brittle and will snap easily when bent too much.Ramblers when happy can grow to 30 feet and bloom once with a mass of blooms. Climbers bloom continually but have less flowers (although more like hybrid tea shapes) and are usually around 15 feet.

hmm, i think i have catnip myself, its lemony (probably lemon scented catnip) upright growth but with triangular serated leaves, its been threataning me with flowers for weeks now and is covered in buds, but none have opened. i think it has pinky-purpley flowers. i bought it last year and it grew about 6" tall and had many stems, this year only 1 stem, but that stem is about 2'6" and branched all over with flower buds covering it. i gave some to one of the cats to test it for reactivity, (not all cats are reactive to catnip) it took hte leaf, sniffed it, picked it up, chewed it. i thought oh its releasing the scent. nope it hten ate the leafe made a choking noise and wandered off. ??? *is confused by foolish cat*

How do you tell the difference between Phoenix?

I thought CIDP leaflets are more uniform in their arrangement, more flat like a Roebellini or a majesty. These leaflets are more spurratic like a queen palm arrangement. But when I first saw it at the nursery, a CIDP is the palm that came to mind. It seems to be growing more squat and a thick trunk for the size, although you can't tell now with the geraniums growing around the base.

I tried to do research for you but the planks are so slim that any grain is cut off so it is difficult for me to tell. Maybe someone that installs these two wood species can help you out better. I was hoping to post links for you. What width is the plank since doing a research on that width under Google images for each wood species may help?

I LOVE PURPLE BUTTONS! I am getting giddy just thinking about its late springflush of bloom. PB and Midnight Blue are the Marie Pavies of the purple rose world. Perfectly sized for my inner city garden and absolutely joy-inspiring whenever I spot a cluster of blooms. In fact, Marie Pavie and PB look fanatic side by side. Breathtaking! All summer. Violette is one of my very favorite roses! (I think I'm repeating myself.) It is my top purple rambler. The color, when backlit, is breathtaking. I have been visiting mine daily.
