I hate to be the naysayer, but other than that leaf tip, your plant looks awfully happy. I agree that if it fertilizer burn or something of that sort, you'd think you'd see it on more than one leaf. Then again, if you had a disease or something, you'd think that might be more than the tip of one leaf as well. I'd consider lopping much more of that leaf off, if it concerns you. That's a pretty big sized plant - personally I wouldn't worry about saving one leaf if you think that leaf has something funky going on.

Calvin I also dont care for Oncidiums. I dont understand them. I try to like them but every time i look at them im just like eh, Phrag Besseae I like, but paphs make me think of flies! Also im Very afraid of spiders! so i dont like paphs big pouches a spider is going to get in there and get on my face when i bend down look at the flower i just know it will happen so No, No Pouches! Im also not a fan of Disa and Zygos, bulbos,or dendrochilum Harlequin Phals or ones with a bunch of spotting. Peloric anything. Im starting to loose my love for Floofy ruffles On Catts gravitating to examples of the species At whitecat those flower buds scare me! look like thumbs but then they turn into some kind of bug. ~Sam

that is phragmepedium. it is probably an intermediate temperature grower and should be water and fertilized often.i should tell you a good rule of thumb is to keep water and feed high and every thing else is an in between. but if your not sure alway err on the simple side. only repot once it is too big because its roots are sensitive and when it is repoted always get one that is atleast 2 sizes up. but of courase get others oppinions as well...

Telly2, I've never been successful with spag n bag. I've taken a plant that is in need of TLC and set it down into a deep bucket. Added a bit of water to the bucket (plant itself in a small plastic container, you don't want the plant sitting in the water). If the plant is really dehydrated I lightly cover the bucket. In the morning the plant comes out and goes on my kitchen window sill, later that p.m., back in the bucket. During all of this, I add 1/2 strength root stimulator to rain water. Watering only about once a week when the plant is close to being dry. The skewer method is good, I still use them in some of my pots/plants. This is an alternative to spag n bag. Of course it takes up more of your time. Whichever method you choose (and I'm not so sure you need to do either), be careful that you don't allow moisture to collect in the leaf axils...this can start rot and that is more deadly to a plant then having it starved for moisture & light. Good luck with your plant and give us an update in a few weeks. You will need to be patient, it will take some time. June, I still don't consider myself a successful paph grower. I'm still learning! But, it is good to finally have some success at growing these beauties. I've sent two delanatiis to orchid heaven and I will purchase another as soon as I get back to Houston for a visit! I did bloom the second plant I had and it was wonderful! I loved the fragrance. I'd love to grow/bloom a malipoense too.....they say it's fragrace is like raspberries! Ah, my lonnnng wish list!
