Great pics today.

We've watched fledgling hawks torment the squirrels all summer. Here's the mama hawk (in a tree on the right) and a young one in the tree on the left. The black container on the ground holds corn for the squirrels, deer, etc.

Ron, that's a big moth. Butterflies land with their wings up.

Here's Jack London's cabin in Dawson, B.C., site of the Gold Rush. It's actually a reconstruction of his cabin using some of the original logs. A second cabin was made the same way, and it's in Oakland.

Ron, that is a nice looking Imperial moth.

I grew the cotton a few years ago. Twas in a vase, and so far, never a good time to bring along. I was worried about squishing it.

Now, it is back in the vase. ;)

Casey...Ashley is absolutely stunning! Her eyes are piercing. I can't express how very beautiful she is!

Gazania-Is that a yellow and black caterpillar in the upper right corner of the second picture? I think I see a bee to the right and behind the coneflower(?) in the center of the last picture.
I change my wallpaper picture every few days and come here to look for something because there are always so many beautiful ones here.Today I'm using Betsy's beautiful Zebra Longwing. I love butterflies! Thank you Betsy.

Moni-If you spray those stalks and bolls with a clear acrylic sealer they will last a long,long time.

Betsy, you are right on both counts, but the caterpiller is unfortunately dead. Trying to keep all of them safe, has been....well...trying.
