A very 'fresh' Monarch

We're trying to identify this one...

Mimi, are you trying to identify the flower or the insect? It's a Hawk Moth, a.k.a. Hummingbird Moth or Sphinx Moth, on a Monarda (I don't know which variety). Nice shot!!

Great pics!! Here's some of the lillies we got at the lily farm.

Alisande, you're the greatest! Chris took this shot and we've been hanging with friends yesterday and we were all stumped by the insect. I'll let him know when he wakes up!

There's nothing pretty about this old laundry truck, but it has been at the car lot for at least 12 years in the same spot. Every time I pass by and see it I think of old cartoons. It looks like it should have been in one from back in the 1950s.

Mimiboo, that little critter is a sphinx moth! Some people also call them hummingbird moths.

Dh and I decided quite some time ago to try to set up another computer in our unfinished basement (mostly for my digital pix, I work on them sometimes...LOL). We found this old discarded desk yesterday....it was a "heavy trash-day" throw-away. We checked it out and it didn't look too awful so we brought her home and set it up. Not too bad for a beat up old desk and a nasty basement.....LOL. (See the bed to the left in the pic....thats my "hiding place" whenever we're having those confounded tornado watches and warnings...LOL).

Ron....I just love finding something that can be put to good use....we haven't brought many "found" items home but this was just too good to pass up.....I love doing this....might just do it again...LOL.
