This is main street Kite, Ga., population 240. It was destroyed by tornadoes this weekend.

Sadly I must confess, I didn't take any pictures on either of my biking weekends that I just came back home from.

But, here is the next one from my files.

Still about my Lewis and Clark bicycle ride. We are about to cross the Mississippi on the chain of rocks bridge, which is also part of old Route 66.

Ron-What a neat place that was.Such a shame it was destroyed.A shame too that little towns like that are going by the wayside due to new freeways and interstates by-passing them.I love going through all the little towns when we go to OK but some are being by-passed at this moment.Sad thing is that most will dry up and blow away due to less business.

Jodi, what motel did you stay at?? Dean will be in Kobe in July!

Sandy, we stayed at the Sannomiya Terminal Hotel at the Sannomiya Terminal Bus and Train Station. Very convenient, clean and reasonably priced and it included a great breakfast selection.

The hotel was recommended by my Japanese friends who live in Kobe. There isn't a great deal of English spoken at the hotel or Kobe in general but everything and everyone was wonderful there. Oh how I wish I could back right now!
