Checked in SSE yearbook to see what my source said: 2.5" x 5" ( maybe mine were just small), mildly hot with good flavor. Brought from Hungary, about 1929, to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin area. John

I grew a "Cowhorn" from bonnie plants this year. I don't care for them fresh but cut in half and cooked in olive oil until the skin blisters with a little salt they are great! If you like things a bit warmer, these are rated 2500-5000 scoville (jalapenos are rated about the same) and they grow 8+ inches long, slim and get a curl at the end. Good roasting peppers too from what I hear.

I have a similar setup (1956 rambler in the N burbs), however my steps are leaking and sinking. I need to remove them. I am not sure if the steps are the 'roof' to the cold room or how to proceed. Not finding a whole of info online. Would love to get rid of the cat pee smell from this room, but my main water shutoff is in here.

Thanks Bill and right back at you, and all. I can hear the snow crunch under foot! Pine stands-at least in the Lakes States-harbor lots of undergrowth with time. Sure-not when they're 20 ft. tall and crown to crown, but eventually, things open up enough to get invaders......the good kind. Beauteous.

That is a fascinating photo. I wonder how they know how to do that. Do they drag the limbs in place? I know they chew around a tree trunk and get to it fall the direction they want. I wonder if they ever goof.
