Now I'm realizing that the other ceilings I painted do have streaks...you just can't tell as much because there isn't a lot of natural light in the rooms. I've been reading up on the visible solutions sw paint after posting this and there are a lot of complaints. I'm going to go to my local store (where I've bought 16 gallons of paint and even more supplies in the last few months) and demand a refund or replacement. It looks like their classic ceiling paint (not the color changing one) has worked well for people who have had this same problem. What waste of time...I'm so disappointed.

Looks like quite a nice house...glad it found an old house lover to take good care of it. There is an incredible amount of labor in redoing an old house. I tell people that you have to really love an old house otherwise you will hate it. Trust me, right now I'm in the hate it phase of redoing endless amounts of trim...Who said french doors and 6 over 6 windows were such a nice feature? I like your wall color; it is similar to my new house project. I mix mine from white paint and miscellaneous tints but aim for something around that color. I have found that light blue/green/gray is an excellent choice in houses with a mix of stained trim and white. To my eye, many colors of beige just don't show off well against wood trim Ambiguous is a good description...depends on the lighting. From the vantage point of the dining room, looking through the hallway into the back bedroom, the paint appears to be two different shades. Just like my floor where the exact same stain is used on both sides of the line where living room meets dining room...looks like a totally different floor color depending on the viewpoint.

Hi Lilyfinch - I once received a rose from Heirloom where all the canes looked like your first photo only the blackened portion was even greater. I sent them a photo and they refunded my money because it was clear that the rose wasn't going to make it and they didn't have any more in stock. I don't know what causes this to happen. You might be able to root a cutting from the top but I don't think you should have to. The vendor should replace it or give you a refund. Blue For You is a lovely rose. Mine was one of the first three roses to bloom this spring and is finishing up now. Ann

Thank you for the comments. We bought the paint in a pearl finish at a Benjamin Moore dealer and the sales person said the shake time was longer than normal so she did that. We used a Purdy brush on some chairs and the foam roller on the head board. We sanded and primed with a Benjamin Moore oil based primer. We do stir the paint before and during use. I wondered if anyone else had this issue with this color. It is a beautiful color-- perhaps it needs more shake time.
