Yes, Alisande, it's a New Guinea Impatiens. Variety Pink Splash, I think. Joel has had it at the greenhouse a couple years now.

I LOVE lizards too!

And this one has blue on its throat. I took 40 photos of lizards on one of my hikes last spring. It was at an old cattle camp with abandoned corrals all around. There was a male lizard on the top of nearly every post showing off to any gal who would take notice. It was pretty entertaining watching the males do push ups to show off their colors (and fitness prowess :-) They seemed oblivious to me as I walked right up to some almost close enough to use the macro.

jodi....I went to Moab to get that pic! I can't believe YOU get to see beautiful lizards with color on them aaaaaaaaaaall the time. Please post more!

Nicole, are you kidding? Colorado must have some pretty lizards somewhere. And really the Western Fence lizard is probably the most colorful I've come across. We called them blue-bellies when I was a kid. The Alligator lizards and a small bronze skink-like lizard are pretty prevalent in the area and we've found a number of the little bronze lizzies in the house. They are very skittish, very fast and stay low, not climbers like the blue bellies.

When Casey_nfld came to visit a few months ago I took her on a short hike where she saw her very first lizard in the wild. I was hoping to find her a bob cat because there are pretty common around here as well.
