Such pretty frost photos. That particular kind of frost is hoar frost. I googled it and found out there are three kinds of frost. Here's what it says about hoar frost. Hoar frost occurs when water vapour touches a very cold surface and freezes on it instantly. This can happen to the leaves and branches of plants, and will cover them with ice crystals that look like spiky fingers. It can also occur on other freezing surfaces such as soil and metal, and so can often be seen on cars. Hoar frost can occur at higher temperatures than rime frost  usually when the air temperature is around 0°C (32°F). However, the ground is usually much colder, and the air must be moist for the ice crystals to form. Compared to so many of you, our snows in northern Mississippi look more like a heavy frost than a snowfall.This is Anna and was taken the day after a snowfall a few weeks ago.

Here's a majestic eagle that I took while down near the beach yesterday. They are everywhere right now because of the herring run. I couldn't get too close, so sorry for the picture quality.

That looks scary! Judging by the 1st photo, it also looks like it was windy there... I don't think I could climb that:-: Sanantoniorose, I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT - I think there are about 3 newer models since mine. I also use the 55-250mm IS lens, which was the one IS (image stabilization) telephoto/zoom lens that was relatively affordable. It might not be the lens you want if you're going to be doing primarily close-ups/macros, or indoor photos, but I've managed to do okay in both those situations with it (and I've been taking a lot of indoor/product shots for our shop - I have to make it work, lol!). I would recommend checking out Amazon or Costco, as they seem to have the best prices. I don't know if you're interested in a DSLR or point and shoot?
