Website doesn't show full page

I am using Mozilla Firefox, and many webpages have the left quarter or so of the page cut off. I can't scroll to it, it isn't my computer screen, and it isn't all webpages, just a few. I have tried IE and Netscape, same thing happens. Is this just certain websites (youtube is one of them) or is it my computer?

It's been happening to me also lately. Just keep stretching them back to where they belong. Pretty soon it will stay that way.I have Firefox too.

There is no way to stretch them, they are at full page as it is. Now IE will let me see some of the pages full some of the time, but not all.

A2, just curious as to what kind of consulting you do and where A2 is?... now I understand why you said you could buy a toilet in Canada, but believe me (living in Canada), Totos are much cheaper in the US... as are almost ALL plumbing supplies/fixtures so I wouldn't think it would be worthwhile to shop up here! I'm approximately your age (A wee bit younger), and just got rid (well we started gutting over a year ago, left the toilet in as long as possible) of our avocado green fixtures! Though previous posters are correct about relative cost of fixing toilets (again costs more up here), I totally get your position. You can only fix things for so long until you begin to ask, shouldn't we just replace it? For that reason, we have a brand spanking WHITE toilet in our otherwise sky blue fixture BR (#3 and last BR to be remodeled). We had literally duct-taped the toilet seat down, cuz I refused to pay $60-$70 for a new one as I knew that toilet was going to be replaced. Unfortunately, there are unremoveable rust stains on the linoleum cuz the old toilet had a bigger foot print, but I have lived with this 'new' toilet in this old BR for 3 years now. So, personally I would start looking at toilets, replace the present one, and just reuse it in your new remodel. On another note, I just got back from visiting family, and I guess I haven't sat on a non-comfort height toilet for awhile, as I used my mother's BR I almost pulled a muscle, because for a second I thought I had sat down and missed the toilet bowl! I stayed with my sister, and really I thought I was using a kid's vanity and toilet, they seemed so low (I really do think her vanity is even lower than the normal low BR height) Our new BR vanity does have all drawers, top drawer is U-shaped to fit around sink. I had it custom made so it was deeper than sink. Since the plumbing was in the middle I had him make the 2 sides 2" longer. The other two drawers are 2" shallower to allow room for pipes in back. The second drawer has the U cutout to clear plumbing. As you can see, not installed yet:

Lauraxx -- in this pair, it seems you are the one uncomfortable with not having a contract. As others have suggested, then (not meaning to sound nasty): you do it. Just print up your understanding of the work you've agreed to and ask the contractor to sign it. If he balks at that, seems uncomfortable or refuses, seems insulted or whatever -- well then you've got a situation to evaluate. If he has so many happy customers around with nary a contract in sight, perhaps he'll feel insulted. But you aren't asking for anything untoward. In the end he'll sort of have to make his peace with your "terms" and sign it (or negotiate misunderstandings first). If he won't, that's a pretty illustrative situation to find yourself in. What would it be like if he wouldn't respond to your needs in the event of a problem? As a test-case, this non-problem should be telling. Stick to your guns: if this situation makes you uncomfortable you have every right (with ample precedent) to want to alter it. Not for an instant does this imply you suspect there will be problems, that you harbor concerns about the GC, etc. It means you feel uncomfortable; it is your right to feel comfortable, and your GC likely is the very first to want to agree with that!

John, You are 100% right, the Box is just a mini Computers and are subject to everything a normal computer is (Lockups, freezes, resetting etc...). Sometimes you do need to replace the box ifthe same problem persists. This will happen on my box whether I have anything on the DVR or not. It is very temperamental and will something do it's own thing. There are times none of the Buttons work (on the remote or on the box itself). I usually have to unplug the box and let it set for a while (resetting it). My real problem is with all the Trips I've made to Comcast exchanging equipment. I recently replaced 2 Cable Adapter Boxes and my Modem/Router. The Modem/Router was the 6th in a year. Once I was home and all hooked up one of the Cable Adapter Boxes didn't work correctly and neither did the Modem/Router. I ended up having Comcast come out this time and they found nothing wrong! I packed up the Modem/Router and took them back again to Comcast. They Replaced the Cable Adapter Box with the same model. The Modem/Router, well I requested a Modem this time with no Router. I decided to use my old Linksys Router. I now have everything working except for the Cable Box in the front room (it had a bunch of stuff on the DVR my daughter recorded). I couldn't return the box for fear of being killed by my daughter (would have lost all her recordings)(maybe next time).

What Sheila said and, though my Rose du Roi (of commerce) came from Vintage, there is some difference between immature and summer blooms and those of the first flush in spring on a mature rose. I don't have many summer photos of this rose, for the very reason that the summer blooms are generally not the spectacular form and color they are in the spring and fall. Were your two blooms produced just recently, Jo, during summer? Here is a July, 2011 flower on a youngish, own-root plant (and I've seen it with even fewer petals than this and more open, showing stamens, in the summer): Here is a first-flush bloom on the more mature plant (April, 2013): And another, three years later (April, this year) on the same plant:

Michelle are you saying you see the full page but it does not actually fill the screen?

If so are you using a screen setting of 1024 x 768 or larger? Many web sites set the width to a fixed 800 pixels so they have absolute control over how it displays. Other webmasters will use 100% width regardless of the monitor it is being shown on. Is this the difference you might be seeing?

Owbist, The left side (about 2 inches or so) of many webpages doesn't show up. It is like my monitor is too small for the webpage. The page is fully opened, and at the bottom that larger websites have a scroll bar there is none. This just recently began happening, and I have not changed any of my settings.

Again, it isn't all websites, but some of the sites are retail sites with selections on the left side that I can't access.

Michelle the only conclusion I can think of is the web pages in question are built too wide. Many of us build a web site just because we can and it is cool. However sometimes we do not fully understand the complications especially in setting the width. My web sites are built to 800 pixels wide to accommodate 99%of computer users. If I built one and set it to 1024 pixels wide so it fills my own screen then it would be too wide for perhaps 60% of users.

You may also notice there are still a lot of web pages that hug the left side but not filling the width even on a 17 inch monitor. These are probably still set to 640 pixels for a 15 inch screen.

Could this be the answer? Post a link to one of these sites if you like so others can see how it looks on their screen.

Can you post one of the links so some of us can see what happens? I surf a lot and don't remember encountering this.

One suggestion I have is to try a browser that easily allows you to change the page size. I use the free browser Opera (www.opera.com) and like it a lot better than IE or Firefox. It has a little dropdown menu that lets you set the page size larger or smaller than normal (100%): you can set it anywhere from 20% up to 1000% with one click. I don't know if this will fix your problem, but it's worth a try.
