I have plenty of blue lobelia to send. Can you get any sourwood tree seed to trade?

I just caught a cheeky chestnut backed chickadee eating my lobelia flower buds. And when I went outside to chase him away, he just kept going to town, having himself a hey-day! Cute, but really? I wonder how long this has been going on, as it's the first time I've witnessed it. I put some seeds and peanuts in a dish for him to keep him happy and away from the new little buds. Purchased Lobelia gibberoa seeds from Nesltebrea Exotics in New Zealand (they have on line cat) approx 5 years ago. Germination was reasonably easy, subsequently lost some of the seedlings when transplanted outside. At 2/3 years they were up to approx 8 feet tall, a major fire burnt them to the ground but they regenerated, they are now back up to 6 feet Hardiness - I garden in the SW UK coastal site, a hostile Z10 temps down to 0C but heavy rains and severe winds from the Atlantic, exposed about 100 yds from the sea The plants tend to lose all their bottom leaves becoming very leggy and not attractive, some wind burn has occurred on the leaves. to date the plants have not flowered The soil is good well drained and loamy Frank

Yeah, they do look like phlox. Well, phooey! I hope those two Cardinalis come back. I was got sick after I planted them last year. I briefly got to seem them bloom.
