Could be a lot of things. If you wait until you have some more mature leaves, ID'ing becomes a whole lot easier. FataMorgana

hmmmm I have a small hickory in the back and a small one was growing next door. There was also a pokeweed i was trying to get rid of about 3 feet away from this spot. I hope it is niether of those. I was hoping it could be deciduous magnoila.... Thats what i thought it was but i cannot be sure. There are a few mags in the neighbourhood.

What I also fine weird is that on each of these, there are these things neaar the bottom of the stem. Refer to the 1st picture. It's not in great focus, but that thing near the bottom, it's sticking upwards...It's like some kind of stipule, or leaf...doesn't look like a tendril or root to me - it's green.... So...it's like...uhh, what is that thing, why is it so far at the bottom of the stem, and why isn't anything growing from it? Weird. I should also mention that these had white fibrous roots, not dark woody ones or anything like that.

The flooding really washed weed seeds everywhere last week. Same is happening in my veggie garden rows, which were painfully kept weed free for the past two years. Most of mine are henbit. Yours may be chickweed. At that size, they're easy to kill off by raking somewhat vigorously to break the tender stems. Seedlings with only cotyledon don't have the stored energy to recover. Good luck, I'll be tackling my own weed seedlings today- probably with a hula hoe.
