Good thoughts please

This is a little long but this family needs all the prayers they can get.

My best friend, who is also my DH's cousin whom I have known since 4th grade and we are like sisters, has a DGGS that is 16 months old.Last weekend they took him to the ER.He had been ill a couple of days and was crying all the time, wouldn't eat and couldn't have a bowel movement. They first thought it might be a stomach bug.Anyway, doctor checked him over and said he couldn't find anything wrong, take him home and let it run it's course.Next morning he wasn't any better and mom noticed his tummy was bloated so she took him to the doctor again.Doc looked at him, called an ambulance to come to his office to take him to the hospital, even rode in the ambulance with him.Got him to the hospital and and found that his small intestine had ruptured. They immediately air lifted him to Children's Hospital in Ft.Worth to do surgery. They live outside of Ft.worth, not sure where.Anyway, during the flight he lost consciousness and stopped breathing and his heart stopped. They worked on him and got his heart back but he had been deprived of oxygen for quite a while and fear irreparable brain damage. He was so weak by this time that they didn't think he could survive the surgery. They decided Tuesday night that the surgery couldn't be postponed any longer and went ahead with it.The surgery went well but they have had him in a drug induced coma since the surgery.Today he was not sedated but not fully awake. He responds to being touched and talked to but doctor said that was "just" seizure reflex or something like that.CT scans taken yesterday showed some improvement in the brain but it is still uncertain how much damage has been done.He isn't on life support and his heart is good and all other organs are functioning normally. The surgeon gives them little hope but another doctor told them not to let anyone tell them there is no hope!

So,please pray for this little one.His mom is 2 months pregnant so this is a critical time for her too.
