Well, at least those on the KT christmas card exchange list.

See, I thought I was being so smart this year. I bought a big old ROLL of stamps. Special stamps. They don't have denominations on them, and even if the price goes up a cent or two they are still good. I figured I could use them to mail the cards and any extras would certainly never go to waste. No sirree bob. No waiting in line for 1 cent stamps either, when the rates increase. Aren't I a smart cookie?

Yeah. Only these are CANADIAN stamps. Other than the small handful of we Canucks on that list, this giganto roll of stamps is useless to me. At least as far as mailing these cards goes. And I can't return the roll because DH apparently saw it and gleefully took a few to pay some bills. THE NERVE.

So. If you will all kindly pack your things and move to Canada, I would be eternally grateful. And see that you do it real quick because I would like to mail these cards out, like, Monday.

Okay, OKAY. I will buy new stamps. Sheesh. Ask for one small favour. And yes, I am just ego-centric enough to be surprised to find that you all live in some foreign country. Tee hee!

Gee that sounds like something I would do. Now I'm curious, how much does it cost to mail a card to the U.S.?

If nobody on the forum is interested, you can always put an ad up in the Craigslist "Free" section for your area. This website is very quick and easy, all you need to provide is an email address (which can be hidden from view). I placed an ad in the free section to get rid of old office furniture and file cabinets and was deluged with emails from people who were interested. I have also gotten rid of things through the local Freecycle group - if you have one in your area. Here is a link that might be useful: Craigslist MN

Kelly, I will celebrate by making a quilt of my choosing!!!! (And perhaps a margarita...). Though I always start out griping when I make a quilt for someone else based on THIER prefs, then always end up liking it. (Thanks in large part to all of you saying kind things about it!!!!) Maybe my first love is complaining, not quilting. LOL! Stitches -- OH! Thank you for that idea. (Coloring light quilting stitches that are not where they belong.) I have my big cow and tree quilt to do next and I'm finding it's NOT SO EASY to quilt even a straight line when you are shoving a behemoth quilt through a tiny machine. I plan to use cream thread on that one. Better go get some brown pigma pens for where I land on the cows!!!!

Alanna, I think MOST of us feel the same way! Those of us that have to grow them inside that is..Can you imagine how many people that don't even come here have the same issues? And worst yet, I have been growing them since I was 10 years old!! I have never had a perfect banner year with every tree, but thank God 99 percent of them do ok and the 1 percent that does not do well, goes in the trash! I feel your pain too. There is no perfect environment to grow them perfectly unless you grow them in an area they are accustomed t Oh the joys of this hobby...lol

It costs 93 cents (plus tax) to mail a card to the US which is outrageous in my opinion.

OMGosh!!!! Dances I've got tears in my eyes your title got me started and then the rest of it sent me into hiccups of laughter thanks alot lolol.

I am sorry but I can't move, snow gives me the shivers ;0)

I don't understand! I use US stamps to mail to Canada! why can't you use Canadian stamps to us? I'm cofused! lol

I think it's $1.00 from here to Canada!

Whew! I am safe cause I am not on the Christmas card list! Had me worried there for a minute! After all who wants to move where there could possibly be MORE snow and cold than what you already have!

Kat - I need to use "International" stamps. I called and asked if I could just, say, use more of these on each envelope. There was a long pause, then the guy basically implied I was a trouble maker and should just buy international stamps like a normal person ROFLMAO!

If I weren't so lazy, I would ask my BIL to get US stamps and actually mail them over there because he drives over to work every day. But that would entail a whole other phone call, getting him money and the cards, and sigh.

No. It is just easier for me if you all would move.

Dances, where have you BEAN? (That's how our Canadian relatives always pronounced "been".) I was lying in bed about 1 AM thinking- "where's Dances, I haven't seen her post in a while." Wut's yer excuse, little lady? I've missed you.

Dances you CAN use more regular stamps, I've done that in the past and they get there just fine.

It costs .69 to mail a card from here to Canada. I think it was .90 for the one to France.

I think that rates to the U.S., quite a bit higher than to Canada, Are still lower than general International mAil costs.
