Rosewitch, England was definitely one of my favorite places I have ever visited. My folks took me there when I was 14, and I remember bits and pieces the Crown jewels, walking amongst the Stonehenge stones (roped off now, vandalism), Stratford upon Avon. Time for me to take my own 14YO. Im trying to think how I can get over there for a whole summer, LOL. Dlynn, I could have worked so much more. I didnt really look at night time stuff and there was loads to do. Greece: cant help you, but shoot Yasou a line, she went a few years ago. LOL Annie! Teresa, well go together. I wanted to explore more cooking and food shops/stores but didnt get to. Terri, here is more a link to Pictures of England, a website pointed out to me by Denise. I started it on Bourton on the Water, where we stayed for a few days. Thanks Sharon, I was actually thinking how can I even come close to posting her quality of travel guides, I dont do the pictures she does LOL. We might have sat at the same table in the Cheshire Cheeses dining room! Sawdust still there, but we didnt make it to the cellar. I missed a lot of the British Museum. It has changed.check out the new atrium. I couldnt keep up with DH and DS16. Afternoons, when I planned museums, I crashed. Next time! Pam, lots of people did more than we did per day! Theater every night, more attractions, I cant imagine. Gina heh heh yeah I need another vacation like a hole in my head. Speaking of whichDH has another week off in August. Nooooooooo! Kathleen, DH says he took an average of 200 pictures a day. Yup. Me, I just buy the post cards or Google the images, same thing (DARFC from the photo bugs here) Cathy, thanks for giving me the War and Peace moniker heh heh. Next time I go with CF friends! LindaC, I know. Im still exhausted. Speaking of the V&A, did you know there was a Dale Chihuly chandelier in the entrance room?

I spent more time looking for lighting on the net last summer than I care to admit. It was a painfully long process. I don't know how big your project is -- mine was a whole house. I discovered two things. Well, I discovered a lot of things, but what I remember is that: 1) No one site has the best prices across the board. I shopped every item across different sites and placed orders with at least 10-12 different dealers. 2) After it was all done, I went to a giant lighting store in CT after dropping a friend at the airport and their prices where as good as or better than my online prices. So, I could have gone to a showroom, worked with an actual human being, not gone buggy-eyed in front of the computer screen, had the benefit of a sounding board (if not actual design input which I didn't really need) and it all might have cost the same and been far less confusing and stressful. As for the big box stores, I went there a few times, ever hopeful that I'd find the diamond in the rough. It was fruitless for me. YMMV. Good luck!

This list was posted maybe a month ago here. It has many, many, many inaccuracies and some of these businesses no longer exist.I've seen it posted on Facebook, too. In fact, it seems whenever an article says to pass it around or something like that, it's not very accurate. This is not meant to fault YOU, joann....I know you are trying to help others get a discount. It's just that the information is untrue. (Wouldn't it be nice if Alaska Airlines gave a 50% discount?)

My husband and I just went through the "best bang for your buck" search for Manhattan hotel rooms in September . My criteria is different than yours though as I wanted to be near but not north of the Mount Sinai hospital as my husband will need to be compfy after his heart operation while we wait for the okay to fly home. I searched on Trip Advisor and when I found the best rate I signed up on that site. You sometimes get an additional discount. The best deal I could find was at the Marmara hotel on the upper east side. I have never stayed here ( going in a few days) so can't recommend although the reviews were not bad. For a special deal of $361 we got an 816 sf suite with a small kitchen/dining area, balcony, separate bedroom, one and a half bathrooms, mini washer and dryer and living room. They do have many different options , lower price & higher price points but I'm not sure if the sale is still on. I know they did have a deal on the 600sf 1 bedroom suite in your price range. There is a catch though, make sure you ask for a room way up as there was construction on the new subway connection next door-ish and I don't think it's done yet. The word is that they are underground now and you can't hear a thing. A month and more ago there was work on the facade and it was loud. So, get high just in case. This may be to far out of the middle of it all for you though.
