Awful Febreeze ad on this site

I now know that I will NEVER buy Febreeze. They put an ad on the Kitchen Table site and it just sits there even when I click on "close." What an awful impact the ad makes on the company. I suspect they are losing more potential customers than they know with an ad that will not close.

I see it too and it is awful. I tried Chrome but that was no better. I better go google adblock and see if I can download it!

Why would they kick you off Norm? I don't understand. They sure wouldn't kick you off for what you said above. I've seen 1000X worse with no response. Come to think of it, I never really see any response from them about anything. To block the ads with Mozilla, first turn your flash player off (this takes care of the ads that move across the screen), and then every time you see an ad, left click on it to get it's address. Then add that address to the exceptions list under Tools, then Options, then Content, then Exceptions. So far all the ads seem to come from just a handfull of addresses, so it doesn't take long to block all the ads.

Not sure the insulation - damp or otherwise - makes much sense to me. At least in the Bosch DWs and I would have to imagine, any well constructed DW, the insulation is not open to the DW itself and in fact is more open to the outside than to the inside of the DW cavity. So should the insulation be getting overheated or dampened somehow, I would imagine that smell would be just as profound when you're in front of the DW with the DW door shut as when the DW door is open because the source of the smell is on the outside of the DW. I did have the dreaded DW stink. We had put in our DW about a month before the renovation and at that time, the DW did not smell at all. After the renovation, put the DW back and it smelt like the dickens for a few days. I didn't really suspect the DW 'coz it hadn't smelt at all at its first install but still, the smell was something fierce and entirely unpalatable. Well, it took a few days but eventually our kitchen sink backed up - the drain had had a slow clog somewhere and it took a while to be detectable. We got our plumber out, he flushed the line to look for the clog and indeed he did mention that after a renovation, it is not uncommon for the drain to become slow because during a renovation, construction trash does tend to get into the drains and so usually the drain lines should be snaked to ensure they're clear. He did say that he didn't hit anything noticeable but bottom line, the drain cleared, the sink drains perfectly and the DW immediately lost its stench. In the two years since the renovation has been done, the DW has not smelled at all except on the couple of occasions when a dirty dish was left in it for several several days when I went out of town (don't usually leave dirty dishes in the DW when am to be out of town for a week or more but I've forgotten a couple of times). I do a DW load every 3 to 4 days and I don't get DW-odour in that interval. Based on my experience, whenever I read of smelly dishwashers, I suspect a slow drain with the sewer gases backing up. One probably doesn't smell it in the kitchen because the smell gets a chance to diffuse. Well, that's my $0.02

Amending more than small areas of a hostile-appearing soil is too much work and is not a suitable approach for growing long term plants like trees, shrubs and perennials. It's more natural to apply new material to the surface of the existing soil, either mulching and waiting until the existing soil is improved by that or making berms, mounds or raised beds with purchased soil, on top of the existing soil, and planting in those - without blending the two layers together. Amended soils are still the same soils after the amending - there is no such thing as building a soil - and will constantly be in a process of returning to their previous condition, unless amending continues indefinitely. Feasible for small rooted, frequently replaced plants like annual vegetables and flowering annuals - and not much else. It is also quite possible to quickly overdo additions of amendments and create adverse situations such as excessive drainage (from applications of sand for instance) or excesses of particular soil nutrients.

take them completely out.. and plan on planting in the fall planting season.. presuming it will take you all summer to dig them out yourself.. frankly.. i do not do shrub renovation at the front door of my castle.. this is a visitors first impression of your new house.. and i dont want a 3 to 5 year project of renewal.. out in the back yard.. sure.. why not.. it will be fascinating .. out here.. no way .. if you redid the living room.. would you save the deep paisly shag carpeting form the 60s.. no you wouldnt .. so dont save the POS plants that were planted out front in the 60s ... they have been sheared to within an inch of their lives.. because they are plants with huge potential.. and were planted at least 10 feet to close to the house... because thats what we did back then.. lol ... just take a walk around the neighborhood.. and see what other have done.. and what you like .... and snap a few pix.. and we can get you there.. also note the houses like yours.. the ONLY way to start.. is to remove it all.. so we can see your actual house front.. and develop a plan from there.. right now.. we cant even see that ... ken

Firefox + AdBlock Plus has been touted for months and months on this site...
I wonder why people refuse to use it!?!

Adblock is a FREE download. It works with many browsers. Google it.

We get people complaining about ads every few weeks. It does get tiresome.

So do it or not, just as you see fit, BUT you don't have to see the ads. Ever. Your choice.

With both Firefox and Chrome you need an add-on to eliminate ads. Opera has had content blocker long before adblock came around and it is integrated so it works far better. I don't understand why people refuse to use the best, fastest and safest browser out there. You don't need the extra precautions like you do with Firefox, Chrome, IE and you also have a less bloated browser. You also don't have to put up with the constant updates that the others require while they try to catch up to the one they try to copy. But, to each their own.

On my computers and on my android tablets I use firefox with ad block plus and the easylist subscription all free all super easy to use and never see ads. I have put the directions up here several times so searching for it here might turn it up or just ask. If you are looking for these on google be very careful about what you are getting, there's a lot of rogues with very similar names that you definitely don't want.

I'm using firefox now so no ads. I hated that febreeze ad.

I changed to Firefox to get away from ads, but then I started getting them again. Thanks for the suggestion, Sushipup. I am hopefully now ad free.

just using firefox won't do it. You need to add the adblock plus add on, up top tools add on get add ons, for adblock plus, install to firefox ignore any warnings. Then shut down the browser, restart, click on the ABP stop sign that is now on your address bar area, there look for preferences and add filter subscription. There select the easylist filter list, save, restart the browser again.
