Here is my Angel feather ornament

Tomorrow morning is the memorial service.

I would rather have gone to visitation this afternoon..

But because of not having a car and having to wait on Denny being here...(or driving in the dark last night, which I hate doing) I didn't get the glue on time...and I'm afraid it's not dry.

So I'll take it in the morning.

Those darn dots on the glass are diamond dust...it has static cling and they are sticking on the inside.

I don't think I'll use that next time...but too late for this one.

The stand....I cheated...I found it at the GoodWill..99Â¢. The glass ball I found at Mangelson's..a large hobby and crafts store in Omaha. They were on sale for 99Â¢ also. I found a package of wedding trims at WalMart It is attached to a fine net so you can sew it on dresses or what ever. I trimmed the netting as close to the sewing as I could without causing it to ravel. And glued it to the glass with the GE silicon glue and glued the beads and flowers with that too. The Feather was a long fluffy one and the glass had a small hole. I couldn't get the feather down in there..So I took a drinking straw and pushed the feather inside the straw. Stuck the straw inside the glass and then pushed a small dowel down inside the straw to push the feather out. I put some of the diamond dust...but won't do that again. Because it got static elec. and stuck to the inside of the glass. I enjoyed making it and will do them in the future but hope I won't need to. patti

I do this with ornaments but we call them "You found me ornaments". Our card is VERY similar to yours. I believe it was started a number of years ago and even had a website etc. but trolls utlimately destroyed it....although crafters have kept the tradition going. I posted about it last year...so glad to hear about others keeping it going too. This year I have doilie angel ornamants, some bell/bear ones and I am sure I have some others I have made to give out. I like to leave them in the store isles, church etc. I had to get permission to leave them at the stores though.

Thanks guys....I'm alway hesitant when giving my crafts.

But you have all made me feel like they will like it too..

I sure hope so.

I've made crafts for so many years that my family has nothing to say about them...So I'm never sure if they are what I think they are.

Very beautiful Patti. How could they not appreciate a memoriam like that?

I have a plain clear glass bulb with a white feather in it for my Mom on my tree. I never thought about decorating it. I found the feather on the floor one day the first Christmas season my Mom was gone and I didn't know where it came from. LOL I didn't have any feathery items in my house at the time but there it was. LOL I just took a bulb off the tree and stuck it in.

I did receive something in a swap box a couple of years ago with a little saying and a feather but I have misplaced it somewhere.

I didn't write it...I got this one from Flamingo and changed it just a tad......

A feather from an Angel
Is one we rarely see.
But this one is quite different
And special as can be.

The feather is a reminder

I made "angel feather" ornaments one year, nothing nearly as elaborate as your gorgeous creation. I used little tiny tree ornaments and filled them with "found" feathers. I invegled my walking partner into helping me search for just the right size and shape. Couldn't find more than one or two. Finally something--a predator bird or lightning strike--killed a pigeon, and another something ate the carcass, scattering feathers everywhere. The wind was blowing...well you can imagine what a sight we made running here and there trying to catch them... Then I had to clean the darn things--Never Again! I'll sick to cross-stitch!

I'm sure they will treasure it and the nice thing about it they can keep it out and see it everyday.
