I have no clue how much sunlight we'll have today. It's been a beautiful day considering that it is 26 degrees outside. It was 10 degrees when I got up this morning, but you wouldn't know it. The sun has been shining bightly all day. I added more potting soil to one of my flower beds and was going to plant a few bulbs I had forgotten about, but the ground is frozen. I'm not used to that. I was telling my kids earlier that we'll start seeing longer days. We are all happy about that.

Thanks for posting, It is up hill from here. I hate winter and live in s. Ga.

I appreciate the fact that the days will slowly get back to being longer!!! So even though we are covered in snow and the wind is blowing...I will celebrate with you.

I just checked it out. Here in my part of Ohio it says sun rose at 7:43am and set at 5:00pm. I have learned to celebrate this day also......I count the minutes added on daily.

Thanks for pointing out this happy date. Good to know "longer days" are coming!

Sunrise here in southeastern Minnesota is 7:43; Sunset is 4:34. So we have just under 9 hours of daylight.
My Grandma use to say, "When the days begin to lengthen the cold begins to strengthen."

Happy Solstice everyone!

I don't know but it's supposed to get down to 6 degrees tonight. Brrr!

Single digits tonight and at least 2 feet of snow on the ground and it is still snowing!
