I'm a great grandma

Little Cylus Parker was born Wed.night during

a snow storm. 6 lbs. 11 oz 19in long. Tried to tell

the kids 60 is to young to be great grandma but seems

they didn't think so. Mommy and baby doing well.

Well, yeah, 60 is a little young, but you'll enjoy the baby so much! During a snowstorm! Well Cylus already has a story to tell. Post a picture when/if you can.

Consider yourself lucky!
I'm 70, GS is 13, so it's very doubtful I'll get to meet my GGC.

Thank you all. I posted a link to pictures on Jolana's thread begging for pictures. Unfortunately, they don't live close. They're west of Seattle in Silverdale, WA, which is way, way too far away. When DS finishes his tour of duty with the Navy in 3 years, they may move back to Dallas if he doesn't re-up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Baby and mom and dad are all doing fine, if not a bit bleary eyed and wide eyed with wonder. Mom had to have a c-section, so she's sore. DH and I both got sick on the trip, which made holding Christopher ill-advised. DH actually got pneumonia, but I just got a cold. We did go ahead and hold him, but had to wear a mask. I'm still a bit concerned, both for Chris and his Mom, and hope they didn't catch our germs. Thanks again for all the warm thoughts! Everyone was right. I was a bit disconcerted about being a grandma, feeling way too young, but one look at that beautiful baby changed all that. I already love him to pieces! Sally

Shot......Thank you very much !!!....I'm going to do my very best to make sure these blues are very happy living here...sounds like we needed them here much earlier.....my hubby's tomatoes almost got destroyed by the worms...i many times hand picked the worms off because we dont use pesticides in our veggie garden......not a fun job but in the end it really pays off....hopefully the blues will stay and do that job for me next year....since we live south of you dont know why they wouldn't stay here.... another question i have is about dogs...we have 3 terriers...inside dogs of course but during the day they are outside lots....it seems that everytime our rat terrier gets near the nest or barks....when not even close to the nest, she'll fly out and one or both of the blues will fly away....they dont do this with our toy fox terrier or the jack russell.....i find this really weird.....why not all the dogs and will the blues get used to having them around?.....i sure hope our family pets don't chase them away....i love my bluebirds but i could never get rid of my doggies to have the blues...please tell me the dogs wont bother them....

He looks so tiny, compared to the big hands holding him, so tiny and so precious. Isn't it funny how we get no vote in whether or not we're ready to be a grandparent or a great grandparent!!

Welcome to the big old world, Cylus. Does he have a dimple in his chin? My DS and both his DDs all have dimples. (Compliments of my ex! LOL)

Congratulations Great Grandma! I became a great grandma at 60 too. My Great grandson is now 7 years old and the best thing that ever happened to me. I was 20 when 1st daughter born, my daughter was 20 when my granddaughter was born and Granddaughter was 20 when great grandson was born. Now if I make it to 80, maybe I'll have a great great Grand? :o)

My mom had just turned 56 when she became a great-gram so guess 60's not so bad. LOL We wouldn't have it any other way, there all so special.
