I can see things without being logged in, so I don't think you have to be a member to "visit".

Might be time to do some computer maintenance on your end. Clear cache, etc.

I never log in either. At the top of the page where it says, "Categories" click on what you are interested in--I always click "Food and Drink". To get a recipe you have to click on the picture and a larger picture will show up. Click on it and it should take you to that recipe site.

This is what I'm getting on their home page. This is completely different than before, and nothing is clickable.

At the top it says that Pinterest is an online pinboard where you can collect and organize things that inspire you.

If I hover over a picture I get the option to repin etc.

I had no trouble looking around ..first I tried a bookmark ....shut computer off ..went back and tried a shortcut on my monitor, then I shut down again and tried by typing in pinterest home page. All three worked fine except I am seeing those green underlined words as I type this AGAIN!!!!!. I do not have facebook.

Well, that's just strange. On Chrome, I get the page that I posted here.........nothing is clickable.

I tried it on IE, and it's like it always is, with individual pictures to click on. What's up with Chrome? I cleaned my cache, dumped my history, did my virus scans a few days ago.

Yesterday, Chrome gave me all sorts of fits with email and everything, so I went in to my control panel, chose add/delete programs and deleted Chrome. This evening, I reinstalled Chrome and everything is working just fine.

You can also go to start-programs-accessories-system tools- system restore and restore your computer back to a date that everything was working as it should. Don't forget to restart your computer after you make changes.

I'm a member of AARP, and in one of their newsletters, there was a burb about a book "AARP Pinterst for Dummies". It's only 99 cents, but available only as an eBook.

Anyway, I bought the book because I belong to Pinterest.

I haven't read too much of the book, but one thing I did learn is the you HAVE TO HAVE either a Twitter or Facebook account to join Pinterest.

As a crafter (card making), I LOVE Pinterest! I've even cancelled all my card maker magazine subscriptions because Pinterest is such a wealth of ideas.

I'm not much of a cook, but I've found a lot of crock pot ideas, also.

Yea - get your .99 cents back - you do not have to be on Facebook or Twitter to have a Pinterest account.

You do need an email address - I have one that I use especially for things like Pinterest and here at the KT. I do not use my "real" address for anything like that.

As far as I can tell, there is no email spam generated from Pinterest at this time.

Did you know they now have "Secret" boards at Pinterest? You can set them up for things you want to pin, but don't want public.

Jasdip, I used to see it as single images too and much prefer that. I can click on them but at the top of each page taking up a large portion of the screen is the log in or register box that will not go away. So something has definitely changed for the worse here. I am not a member but I did enjoy a lot of the recipes that were pinned.

I"m bringing this back to the top because I still can't get past the first page. The Log-in/Join button is very prominent and there are pictures of Pinterest on an iPad and iPhone.
There is nothing clickable to get into to view the recipes, blogs etc.
Does anyone have that problem, using Chrome?
(I run scans, clean cache etc etc regularly)

I am using Firefox and also sometimes use IE both are the same thing, nothing clickable till you log in.

I went there and looked and was able to click without being logged in. Do you have some sort of ad block or something that's interfering with it maybe? Here's the million dollar question...why not just join and log in? Google Chrome would not be my choice for a browser either. Use Firefox.

I find nothing of interest at Pinterest anyway...it's just the same old stuff over and over and over. All the babies and tattoos make me want to....

Once in a blue moon I do get the urge to see if I can actually find a recipe of a pic I Iike. By the time I go through pages and pages of blogs and more pins, often I can't even find the darned recipe!

I'm not on it often, haven't been for months, to want to join.

Try googling pinterest. You should see a Pinterest site that shows the categories. On my computer it's the second one from the top. Click on the catagory you want to see and it should let you. I forgot my user name/password so that's what I do now. Love Pinterest!!

Jasdip, I went to Pinterest via my desktop shortcut a few days ago, and saw the same thing you saw.....so I "did" join, and now use that as my desktop shortcut from which I can now "search" for whatever I want. I don't want to have any boards or do any pinning. I will just copy and save anything of interest to me.

I had saved some desktop shortcuts to card making, graphics, and other things of interest to me on Pinterest quite a while ago, and through those I can also search.

jasdip did you try the link I provided to the mobile version it makes it just the one picture at a time.
When I was looking for something specific I do a search in pinterest and it brings up everything in that name.
So sweetpotato would bring up all items with that in it.

I have really enjoyed Pinterest and am a member because I like to "pin" things I see I like and want to do. I created several boards like, food, sewing projects, furniture, pretty rooms, crafts etc.... I have gotten some of the best recipes off of Pinterest too... and some not so good. It's nice to be able to pin things then go back later and look further at them when time allows. A lot of the things I have pinned I will probably never do but what else is new?.... lol

Do you have to be on Facebook to do Pinterest? I love Pinterest but don't want to do Facebook.

NO I am in no way on facebook or twitter and I use it all the time to browse and get recipes, if you click on the link I provided you can see them one item at a time rather than a full page full, I like it better that way. Or if you know what you want to search for like a recipe for mac and cheese just do that in the search box.

One thing I was going to mention that I have really started using a LOT and love is Springpad, I have it on my tablets and phone and my computer, it is kinda sorta like how you pin things on pinterest but you choose to save them totally private to your own notebooks that you create or you can choose certain friends to share with. Totally controllable by you.
I created several notebooks one for recipes, books, projects etc then when I happen upon a page that has something I want to save I just click on the spring it button on my browser bar on my pc and it opens up springpad for me to pick which notebook to put it in and notes to add to it.; I can do the same from my tablets and phone, and they are all synced so no matter which one I do it on it will be there on all of them which is really neat. So if I added a recipe to my springpad and am at the grocery store I just open my springpad app and there is the recipe for me to buy the ingredients.
It is a little like Evernote but I like it much better, evernote has had some issues with privacy lately. Many people that use evernote use springpad also.

For android it is in the play store just search for springpad, for apple users it is in the store for you as well. If you use firefox there is an add on, I think they have one for other browsers as well.

you can just drag that clipper icon to your bookmarks bar on firefox , it gives instructions on other browsers there.
I log into mine using my google log in so I did not have to remember another log in. You can do it through facebook and twitter, gmail and yahoo too I think. By default everything added to your springpad is PRIVATE!!
