My memory appears to be out to lunch this morning

I'm searching for something I can't find. I thought I recieved an email about suggestions for cars in the cold climates but I can't find it. Now I'm wondering if it was perhaps posted here but haven't found that either.

It suggested to keep car windows from fogging up to wipe shaving cream on them and then polish as if it were wax. It also said to keep frost off when you went out in the morning, to spray the windshield with a solution of vinegar and water in the evening before. There were many any things, like hand sanitizer for frozen locks, I think it was. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks, Denise. I thought it came from you but wasn't sure. I LOVE THIS SALVIA! It is a delicate looking, but hardy beauty. I pulled more seeds from it today. ps, I am getting more yellow pears, they just don't quit and I have actually shared some seeds and given away a bunch of maters from them! You are a beauty! ((((Bethie))) Pull the pods before they start splitting or you will have them growing out of your hair! I hard cut mine every winter, Leave the woody parts, clear off all pods, plant some new seeds next to them and have them all the time. Bionic is good, going to schedule the other hip Monday! What's in the West Indies salad? I went out to lunch today, too--with my two former co-workers from the library. We went to a little restaurant run by two friends. My friends had homemade pierogies (I hope I spelled that correctly) and butternut squash soup, and I had a chicken Caesar salad. The salad was unusual in that the chicken appeared to have been pan-fried rather than broiled before it was cut up. It was good, though!

No, B.Smith's is not so good. Great spot, and you did have a beautiful day, but more a tourist attraction. Tate's Farm (Kathleen's dad) where K started selling her cookies as a kid is in walking distance from me. Last year there was an article about him in the local paper. He has chickens and turkeys, and this was about getting your fresh killed turkey. Someone wrote a letter calling him a murderer!! He is a very kind and generous man, and that letter raised a lot of outrage!!! I don't shop at Tate's, formerly Kathleen's, VERY pricey and overly sugared for my taste. Sag Harbor is lovely, where did your dh live? Have you ever tried to find a recipe close to her Polish Tea Cookies? I bet someone on here has a good one. There's really nothing she makes that you couldn't. You are paying for her high rent.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I had read a printed version. Maybe it ws on Yahoo Home page, I don't know now, but thanks to you it doesn't matter.

I've takn notes and also saved it.

When getting near home in freezing weather, or an extended stop, operate the windshield wipers to clear the glass - a lot easier to clear them when stuff on them isn't frozen, than scraping after the car sat for a while and it froze on. Maybe brush off the other windows as well - same reason.

Also, open the windows an inch or two when a mile or so from home, to let the humid warm air inside the car clear out, rather than settling on the inside of the glass as frost when chilled. On the Prairies, many add several sheets of clear plastic with a foam rubber separater on the various sheets of glass to keep them from getting so badly frosted up that one can't see out at all.

Also a good idea to leave the side windows open an inch or so when the car is sitting, to forestall those ice crystals forming on the inside of the glass.

(Iva Mae gave me a nice candy/cookie semi-lunch the other day, as a matter of fact ... and she sent it home with me ... so I guess it's I who was/is out to lunch, or half-way so).
