Not on my life! Quite often I don't even get dressed if I'm not leaving the house. I"m in my comfy fleece jammy bottoms and have an old t-shirt on. I try not to shampoo on the weekends (trying to get my hair back under control). About all I do is brush my teeth and splash water on my face. I look awful. DH must love me because I look HORRIBLE on my days off, unless we leave the house.

When I'm not going to work, I don't wear makeup of any kind. Moisturizer, and that is ALL. We did all our running around yesterday, today the windchill is below 0 so I'm not sticking my big toe out the door either, Glenda! I'll stay in my jammies all day long!

*I* feel better if I wash and use moisturizer, concealer, eye brow and lash makeup, lipstick, blusher. No foundation though. However...this may not happen until ten a.m.!

debby_ab -- Sometimes we need to be reminded to treat our familiy at least as well as we treat our friends, co-workers, the public at large. Does your DH slop around at home? Do you like it?

Yeah, as a matter of fact, he's dressed the same as me. As long as he comfy, I'm comfy. LOL It works for us. We've been together 27 years.

I'm not dressed, not even presentable for company. Just what I wear when I come in for the day and VERY COMFORTABLE.

Guess it's just a thing, about makeup, that I have always done and guess I will.

I've never stayed in my jammies all day, but what I have on is close :o)

Nope--not a speck of makeup. Moisturizer always.

Sweatpants and sweatshirts for both us. No make up, moisturizer yes. Hubby doesn't shave or anything and as long as we're comfy, we're good with it. I think the cats even take a brake on the weekends. They are all just lounging around. Most of them are sleeping on the registers waiting for the heat to kick on.

I put on a light coat of foundation and some blush even if I am not going anywhere. In the event someone stops by I don't want them thinking I am ill. Takes me 3 minutes maybe so I think it is worth it. Today I have on sweat pants and a long sleeve tee shirt, not something I would wear out but I wouldn't be embarrassed if I had unexpected company.

I seldom wear makeup around the house. When I do wear makeup it is very little.

I don't wear much makeup, allergic to eye stuff, except brow liner, and do wear moisturizer due to dry cold, and lipstick.

If I put my makeup on and get dressed in anything other than sweats on the weekends, DH asks "where are you going?"

Nope......I brush my hair and do moisturizer but that's about it......I got dressed and did makeup for way too many years to go to work and I'm not going to do it now.....My Beloved did the same thing..well I mean got dressed in a suit and tie and if he wanted to stay in jammies all day, it would be perfectly fine with me.........and I am sure he feels the same way about me.....

No makeup here, either. Just moisturizer. In fact, I so seldom wear foundation anymore it feels icky on my face--like heavy or something. Ususally just put on some powder, mascara, eyebrow pencil and lipstick if I'm out shopping or something. I love jammy days. Wish clothes were made as comfortable!

I guess it's the moisture on my face. I feel so dried out if I don't put makeup on.

My niece has been married just over a year and has known her husband for several years. He has never seen her without makeup. She lives in the 50's, greet your man at the door with a drink and always look your best so his eyes won't roam. ROFL! Seriously, she does that. It was her advice to her sister when her sister got married 3 months ago. She laughed too. The way I see it, I have enough confidence in myself and trust my husband 110% and know that he loves *me*. Not the paint job I wear.

I don't like foundation either. I don't get why someone would wash their face, put moisturizer on then slop flesh coloured goop on it. I wear eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow five days a week.

I have been in my jammies since Friday night as I knew that no one would be stopping by with the snow storm.

I did wash my face and brush my teeth yesterday but I'm getting ready to jump in the shower and get dressed for the day.

guess I don't have to worry about make up? LOL, I did put my foot out the door. Am at my daughters, and we did a shopping trip to walmart.

Got long johns, and some chocolate, while she grocery shopped. ;)

Still got bed and bath and lowes on my agenda before heading to the German Christmas service this afternoon.

There is hardly ever a day I go without makeup or do my hair. Only if I'm sick or sure I'm not going anywhere at all.

I never wear foundation. I hate the "look" and the feel.

I only do my eyes(shadow, mascara) and put on lip gloss or lip balm.

My husband is in his flannel jammie pants and stained "weekend" t shirt watching the Steelers on TV..

I am freshly root fixed, showered, jeans and shirt..Hair half done..But I'll be in the rain most of the day, so will likely clip part of it back.

He likes me made up...but he doesn't have to wash it off..LOL So he's used to seeing me either way.

I have a morning routine that I do before I leave the bedroom and that includes make up. I put on my make up which is very simple, a cover girl product called simply powder, a little rouge and lipstick. It is a rare day that I don't complete the routine.

wow, to never have been seen without makeup in front of you man? Wow. Just can't imagine. When I am not going out, I stay in sweats all day and no makeup. So does he, sans makeup. tee hee.

We have been together 32 years married, 2 years before that. He has seen me sick, well, skinny, fat, pg and not.. now we are going through menopause. TOGETHER>... he loves me more than ever. To never be seen au natural is just weird to me.

But to each their own. Just think it has to do with some deep issues of trust on that one.

We never have stop in company though so maybe that is part of it.

I look exactly the same at home as I do when I go out--no make-up, no nail polish, no hair dye--ever. And the fact that I've never abused my skin and body with those things is the only reason I can figure why people constantly argue with me about my age, I literally have a hard time convincing a lot of people that I'm the age I am--most think I'm 15-20 years YOUNGER than I actually am. Personally, I think I look my age, but....

And whoever asked if we'd be happy if our husbands 'slobbed' around the house? I'd be extremely unhappy if I felt my husband couldn't feel relaxed and comfortable in his own home. I want a happy husband, not a fashion plate.

I was blessed with a great complexion. I don't wear makeup at all unless I am going to church, then only a little foundation. I always have to use eyeliner and mascara though. no, I don't do anything to my face when I am at home. Thank you my dear mother for giving me your great complexion.

I'm no "fashion plate" and never have been, never will be.

I just feel most comfortable with makeup on.

I am blessed with my mother's complexion. Lucky!

Glenda, it looks like there are several here (including me!) that do feel best wearing makeup on a daily basis.. I don't think anyone here is putting us down for doing so. If I had a lovely complexion instead of splotchy problem skin.. I might skip the makeup too.

I worked at Famous Barr a long time ago and one day I saw a girl who worked at one of the makeup counters and she had dark circles under her eyes and her skin looked pale gray I said "Oh my gosh.. what happened to you?" I seriously thought she had been in an accident or something. Nope.. she just hadn't been upstairs to apply her makeup yet. Some women really need makeup! She was quite beautiful once she was 'made up'.

My husband says there's no such thing as a beautiful woman, just good paint jobs.

I've read him some of the comments made here. He finds it very funny that people can't just be themselves. I was watching a talk show and one man said he found his wife was her sexiest when she wore flannel jammies, had messy hair and didn't wear makeup. He said it confirmed to him how self confident she was in herself and their relationship.

Mostly I put on some make-up but sometimes I get a day when I don't get out of my p.j's and on those days, no make up.

I do what I do because I feel good when I look in the mirror. I didn't wear any for most of my life, but like it now. It's not for whoever knocks at the door it's just for me. And I have to shave off my chin whiskers anyway, I may as well do it all. My GYN said the hair on my chin is hereditary, Thanks Grandma.....

One of the neatest blessings I have received from getting "older" (75+) is that my complexion has gotten better (or eyesight worse? Could be!) Anyhow, I still do my cleansing routine, but even going out these days I mostly just use a moisturizer and lip color (which never stays any time at all). Foundation and blush once in a while for evenings. I wonder if it IS the eyesight? Nanny

When I was a sophomore in high school I sat in social studies class and applied makeup....my friend gave me some to try and it was a boring class.
I got in a lot of trouble for not paying attention and the makeup looked horrible.
I haven't worn makeup since.......well, on occasion I will use mascara and put on lipstick but not very often.
I rely on my inner beauty to shine through.
I know I would look better with makeup but I always think of that day in high school.

I think I could have stated this better. IMO it's about making the same effort for your *self* and your DH that you make for friends or for people you don't even know but encounter in public.

I'm NOT taking this as far as one of our former neighbors, who was a follower of someone called (I think) Marybelle Morgan, c. 1970's. That neighbor once gave a ladies' coffee where she preached the Gospel of the Perfect Wife (my words). She told us she'd set the alarm clock for four a.m. on her wedding night -- so that she would have time to shower, wash and style her hair and apply makeup before her new DH awoke to find her "disheveled". (Sounds like someone debby_ab knows, eh?) She did have five kids at the time of the coffee, so I had to think *some* of that thinking must have gone south! LOL Maybe her point was the same as mine, that you Make An Effort, because you want to look nice for yourself and for your DH.

Sure, a husband and wife see one another looking completely AWFUL at times. We've been married for over 40 years -- have worn high fashion together and have had the flu together. I appreciate that DH keeps himself trim and clean. I do the same -- for myself AND for him.

I live alone and the days I am not going out or expecting someone to stop by for a scheduled visit, I don't wear makeup or a bra. Usually, I stay in my robe all day.
I do find I get more done if I do at least put on sweats.

Glenda doesn't your makeup come off when your in the pool?

My moisturizer or foundation burns my eyes if I get any in my eyes. I can't workout with perfume on either, I break out... :0)

I don't even thru the week anymore....and DH is the one who prefers me that way...I prefer me in makeup hair fixed nice clothes and he is like why I love you for you and I am happy with you just the way you are....soo I don't to actually please him because he likes me with out all that on better...some days to please me I dollup!
