I've never understood having a window in the shower ... but we have one, too. Altho we're in the country and I don't have to worry about privacy, I do want to protect the wood window frame. So I use the tension rod inside the window, with a cut off shower curtain hanging over the wood part. It's not attractive by any means, but it does protect the wood.

I think that 2 matching shower curtains would look neat. One to use as a shower curtain and the other to do like you said and put a tension rod in there with the other curtain cut to size. I think I would probably put 2 tension rods. One at the bottom to keep it from moving around when you shower. You will have to make a pocket on the bottom for the rod.

Maybe some film on the window, and then some thin 'cafe rods attached to the outermost part of the frame... and some soap/shampoo dispensers. I see from the link below, they have come a long way since I got mine...a very plain one that has 4 dispenser bottles.

I had a bathroom like that years ago. Used frosted contac paper on the window. The paper looks just like frost on a window in winter.

They also make those bowed shower curtain rods. It gives you more room to shower without hitting the curtain all the time. Use the two tension rods like Nita mentions, next to the window, and the bowed one with matching curtain on the outside.

You can go to a craft store and in the paint department they have a glass paint that is a frost. I've used it on my garage windows and other places it is a full coverage that looks like frost.
Also I think you can buy contact paper that is frosted too.

You could put a vinyl mini blind there. Mount it inside the window frame.

Here is a pic of my bathroom window. It is a product called Art Glass and it a vinyl sheet that you cut to size and attach to the window with water and a little dish soap. I got it at Home Depot. It was $20 and they have many designs. I love it so much that I bought the same one when I got a new window. This design is called Orchids.

I forgot to mention that no one can see in thru it.

So many good ideas! I am *so* not talented when it comes to decorating stuff. I was looking at the vinyl blinds, but that art glass looks like something even I can manage!

I like naughty kitties idea,that's pretty!! My window is up high and no one could see in unless they stood on a ladder.Our houses in my neighborhood are all one story ranch houses.The window itself is textured glass,that lets the light in,but you can't see in or out.

I had the same problem at my old house. I always grumbled that it hsd to be a man who designed the bathroom....one who never had to clean it. LOL The problem is to protect the wood molding around the window. I used the plastic sheeting use to winter-proof windows. The one that is put on with double faced tape and then you shrink it with a hair dryer. It made it water proof and the light still came in. I did'nt have a privacy problem but if you do. frosted contact paper could be put on the glass before putting on the plastic film. Dottie

It is really easy to tile the window sash if you use the tile that is on mesh. It was not that expensive either. Then use the Art Glass to cover the window.

Also, Bed, Bath and Beyond has a vinyl shower curtain with pockets in it for Shampoos and Stuff.

Angela, I have the same type of window over my bath.

When we did the bathroom remodel Ken put up a curtain rod over the window frame and then hung the same white shower curtain liner I use as my shower curtain. We even used the same hooks that I use on my shower curtain. He then put a tie back hook so that the curtain swags when the shower is not in use and then when I am taking a showewr I let the shower curtain down. I used the full length on my window too because I don't want any more water damage. I just shake the curtain when I am done my shower and it dries in a jiffy.

I have exactly the same setup. Could not have a bathroom without a window. Period. I have a cutoff shower curtain liner which falls about 6 inches below the window frame with hotel sliders on a tension shower rod right over the window. The liner slides easily to one side after the shower for ventilation and light. Also, there is another tension rod with a cotton valance on it to soften the look. Never had it get moldy or messy.

I have one of those 3-basket deals hanging off of one which holds loofah, net scrubby, razor, etc. Can't show a pic as the bathroom is having some work done and won't be finished for a couple more days.

Its worked for us for 4 years :-)

Here is the link to the picture that shows the curtain tie back. You can't really see it in this picture but the top half of the curtain is over to the left side of the window and is swagged over the top portion of the window to the tie back.

I sometimes just l let the curtain drop.
