Stress Fractures....

Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) DH and I were at Menards waiting in checkout line when I got a really bad stabbing pain on the top side of my foot! I thought for sure something had dropped on it! Nope...just standing there. It continued to hurt after that, but not as bad as the initial pain. Time goes by, and it is still causing pain...more so at the end of the day. I didn't want to go to the Dr., because...what do I say!? "I was standing in line and I got a really bad pain!" ?? I thought they would just shake their head at me.

Thursday morning I woke up with the pain, so I figured it was time to go in. Told the Dr. what was going on...still waiting for him to shake his head. He tells me it sounds like a stress fracture! WHAT? It can just happen? Yes, they can, and do alot of times!

I felt so much better just knowing I wasn't going nuts!! LOL

X-rays were taken, couldn't see anything. I was happy and also disappointed that nothing could be seen. Sent me home with mega dose Ibuprofen for a week. All the Ibuprofen seemed to do was upset my stomach (yes, I took it with food) and made me feel all in all...icky! I don't think I will take any more today.

I was playing on the net last night, and decided to look up stress fractures. One spot said, "sometimes the fracture doesn't show up for 2 weeks on x-rays, and sometimes they can't be seen on x-rays" Now I feel better again! LOL So...I guess I will be going to Ames for another Dr. this coming week. Man I HATE goign to the Dr.!!!

It is hurting so bad this morning...and of course I have a ton of things to do today...like bake 2 birthday cakes for tomorrow. I WILL get those done, but not sure how much of the house will get cleaned up! "/

After this LONG story, has anyone ever dealt with something like this???
