I'm back from India (with a great big smile on my face); here's an update: DFIL is doing much, much better; he even went for a walk yesterday! When we were in India, he asked the caretaker not to follow him around at home as he wanted to build up his confidence walking around without support :) Quite encouraging! He's eating well, too. We had to make him prop up his feet so they don't swell up, but poor thing gets bored sitting like that and makes some excuse to get off his chair :) which is OK, now he's walking around on his own.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts (((hugs))). I remember I was so disturbed before I saw DFIL, and knowing that KT prayers were going out to him helped immensely. I'm just so amazed at his recovery.

Another thing - Before we went to India, I had to get Nikita and Max's annual vaccinations done, and went to the clinic for the very first time, met our new vet - who asked me if I'd like to work with him!!! I've always wanted to work with animals and looks like I'm finally getting a chance! The interview is scheduled for tomorrow, and if I get thru, I'd be handling Admin, Pet relocation and the Cattery. Thankfully they've already hired nursing assistants - I wouldn't ever be able to stick needles into those lil babies. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow's interview to go well :)

It's amazing how things have changed from last week's sombre, tense mood to today's happy, upbeat tone. Thank you all once again for your good thoughts for us.

Thank you all for your well wishes and for tips. I didn't know about not eating before bed and with him working 14 hour days some weeks I'll have to tell him to eat at work instead of waiting till he gets home. We do know about no fatty foods but he thinks that it won't be to bad, I guess no matter how much I warn him he may have to find that out for himself. I'll look up info on line and maybe he'll get the understanding of no fat in his diet. This was his first surgery and had no idea what he was going to be going through, Yesterday while still under all the drugs he was feeling super and told me he felt like he'd be able to go back to work this friday OF coruse I knew it was drugs talking and told him not to jump the gun LOL, Well, today as we all know is another story and he's ready to take the time off that doctor setup. I'm sorry Dorothy. Tough loss for all. Since Noe is in low income, can they not adjust her rent to her income only? Are there any organizations that you can do the "leg" work on to get her some assistance/counseling for the changes in her life?

Thanks again, everyone! I'm just back from the interview; it went well, they'll let me know what their decision is, in a couple of days. I can't wait!!

The salary's probably gonna be less than what I've drawn up until now, but I guess getting to pet cheetahs should balance it out LOL If they offer me the job, I've decided to accept it at the salary they'd offer because this is something I've always wanted to do - and I don't want to miss out on such an opportunity.

As I was waiting in the Reception Area, the resident feline Noddy walked over n demanded to be fussed over, so by the time I met the Practice Manager I was covered in Noddy-fur LOL I didn't have to worry about brushing it off, they'd understand :)

All in all, a nice evening. I'm hoping they revert with positive news.

Linda, I'm in Abu Dhabi (UAE) - shifted here from Dubai abt 3 months ago. I miss India terribly!
