The most amazing things have been happening to us since about Thanksgiving. After DH's surgery he wasn't able to lay down without having nasty muscle spasms. He was going on his 4th day of little to no sleep at all. His sister came to visit. She brought this along with her........

She had told one of her friends about how her brother wasn't able to sleep and they GAVE it to us.
Then last week, a lady called here and told me her name and said that our insurance company had started a new policy where everyone gets a nurse to call anytime they have any questions about anything health related. She said "And so, I am your nurse." How neat is that? But it gets better. She and I talked for quite awhile. She was asking how DH was recovering from his surgery. Then she asked if he was on any other medications. I told her about how he was on blood pressure medicine. She asked if we checked his blood pressure often, I told her that we didn't have a monitor here at home. She said, your insurance company likes those who have high blood pressure to be able to monitor it a few times a week. Then she gave me a number to call and told me to call and order a monitor and that the insurance would pay for it in full including shipping. :) That came yesterday....

Next.........last year after Christmas DH & I tossed our old Christmas tree. The branches were coming apart and it was really in a bad way. We decided that we were just going to buy a new one this Christmas. Little did we know that he wouldn't be working right now. I mentioned to a friend of mine about how I didn't think that we would put a tree up this year. I told her that I was fine with it, I wasn't sad about it. She must have known better, 2 days later this shows up at my door.............

I cried like a baby.
So, if all of that weren't amazing enough. After asking me several times if my tree was up yet and having me say no, (which is very unlike me because I always get so excited about the Christmas tree and every year I have it up either Thanksgiving day or even a little sooner)my In Laws put 2 and 2 together and realized that we didn't have a tree. I got a phone call from my Mother In Law yesterday morning. She said "When you get a chance, go to Home Depot. Your Christmas tree is there waiting for you." :) It is a pre-lit tree. We have never had a pre-lit tree before. It is the most gorgeous Christmas tree we have ever had. My heart has been melted into a big pile of mush. Here is our Christmas tree, we decorated it last night.........

I am just so amazed at the thoughtfulness of family, friends and complete strangers.
DH was doing pretty good but is having more pain here these last few days. He is walking around very crooked. His left hip swings way out to the side. This used to happen before the surgery, I didn't think it would be an issue anymore. I called the surgeons office yesterday and talked to his nurse. She says that if he doesn't improve within the next couple of days she needs me to call back. He starts physical therapy tomorrow morning. He had been scheduled to go on Monday but he was afraid to get into the car. He really needs to go tomorrow. The nurse said she really thinks that the therapy will help him a lot.
All of you were right about the band aid though. It was an allergic reaction. That is getting better now.
Anyway, I really just wanted to share with you the wonderful things that have happened to us here lately. :)
Please keep DH in your thoughts and prayers.
