Charm bracelet question..

Ok, my daughter has a Pandora charm bracelet that was her best friend's who passed a few months ago from ovarian cancer. I would like to buy here a charm and wonder what you all would recommend. I am going to post a pic of a Mother/Daughter one, but a question with that one is do I give her both? I don't have a bracelet so help me out here please. Thanks!

I don't know a thing about Pandoras, but when you said you were going to get a charm I was thinking it would relate more to the bracelet's original owner, and your daughter's friendship with her. Just a thought.

Westelle, as far as I know, there's no secret code (unless it's still a secret to me!). I know that many invitations are available with pretty charms, usually one or 2 (meaning one couple or both bride and groom), and they are usually tied with a pretty ribbon and attached right to the invitation. Maybe they became detached in transit? I've provided a link below with tons of charms for wedding invitations, in case you can find yours there. This is how I bend the head pins. Put the bead on and hope the hole is small enough that it doesn't slip off!! If it does, I use a seed bead first. I use pliers to bend them one way,then move up a little and bend it back the other way and cut off the excess,sort of like a fish hook is what I read to do,although mine sorta come out triangle shaped.Slip it over the link and squeeze it closed with the pliers.Sometimes I use 2 pair of pliers if I'm having trouble. My DH gave me his little needle-nose pliers. And I don't worry about them being perfectly shaped,all the same size. My DH bought me a "third hand" like you see old guys tying fishing lures in the movies? That's how I hold my chain while I attach the beads. :) Now as far as drilling the silverware, I had silver plate,which was pretty soft, but my sister gave me some Oneida with real pretty roses right down to the bowl of the spoon,let me tell you...I knew I was in trouble when the bolt cutters would hardly cut the handles off. Then I broke a few drill bits trying to drill the holes, I got one spoon done,and gave up on those. They must have been high quality stainless flatware!So I hope you get extra drill bits. I use a cordless drill and titanium drill bits,and those still break after a while. Hope this helps! Cherry Oh yeah,and before you drill you might want to use a nail set,or something to mark your hole before you drill it,even a nail and hammer to make a little dent, because it slips all over the place!

With a split charm like that the traditional use is for you to keep one and your daughter the other. Since you don't have a Pandora perhaps you could wear your charm on a chain or another bracelet.

Here's another charm that might solve your problem and you might like it better - it's one charm with 2 separate hanging hearts - one has Mother and the other has Daughter. Maybe it's just me but the split charm that you showed almost looks like a broken heart - and I know that's not your intention.

I would buy her a charm in memory to her friend who passed away first. Then the mother/daughter charms and you wear yours around your neck on a nice necklace. The charms should be memorable to the daughter.

My husband and I had key chains that were similar, in that they were a divided heart. When together they said, " May the Lord watch between you and me when we are apart one from the other." He's gone almost 11 yrs, but I still have both halves of that key chain. I keep it in my car.

Hellion, it is a pretty charm~~it does not look broken to me it is like a puzzle piece showing how your hearts come together~~buy it. Wear yours as suggested on a necklace or give her both pieces. There are no rules here, you do what you want~~~all of the charms on the bracelet that were put there by her friend will always and forever remind her of her special friend. You adding one, you like is very loving also.

Brighton has pretty charms!

Son and grandson gave me a Brighton charm bracelet with Mom and Grandmother charms on each side of a heart charm.

I ended up ordering two. One is silver with pastel colored hearts all around it. It is "Love all around". The other is silver with gold saying "Daughter". We can always exchange them. She is wearing the bracelet and received new charms for Christmas from friends so I think maybe she is starting to add her own to it.
Glenda that is a really great bracelet!

I have had a Pandora bracelet for years, I have it filled with wonderful charms, it is really heavy if you wear them all at once. I also have one of the old school charm bracelets from my HS days;)
