A local store has a 21-pce BlenderPro on sale for $19.99.
It looks like a Magic Bullet and has 2 extra little jugs, lids. It's classified as a blender, grinder and juicer. It includes a blender and a juicer. All the same size as a Magic Bullet. Good for everything from chopping garlic to making smoothies.

Tell me how you use yours? Magic Bullet, Nutri Bullet, etc.

I think this would make a great gift for hubby and I.

$19.99? I don't have much faith in the quality of the product at that price.

I have a NutriBullet, which is probably the least expensive of these appliances at $89.99. It is used soley for making green smoothies and does not extract juice. It came with a grinding blade, too, which I use for nuts and seed.

The blender motor is very powerful and between it and the blades, fruits and vegetables are pulverized in a matter of seconds. Liquids must be added when making your drink.

My breakfast this morning consisted of a couple handfuls of baby spinach and kale, plus banana, apple, pinapple, chia seeds, yogurt, and water as the liquid. Delicious.

Our fridge and freezer is always stocked with a wide variety of fresh and frozen produce because of that little machine. I find that I eat differently and prepare all of our meals differently to take advantage of the goodness in my veggie bins.

I have a Vitamix and a Magic Bullet and I use them for different things.

The Vitamix is used for smoothies, soups, salsas, baby food, grinding up crackers and cookies for pie crusts. It's expensive but imo it's the best product on the market.

The Magic Bullet is very handy for things like mixing up salad dressings, because you can store it same container that you mix it in. It doesn't make really smooth smoothies compared to the vitamix but they are decent.

I'll admit, I don't bake my eggshells...but I buy local eggs, and wash very thoroughly (if they had salmonella, my dogs would get it from the eggs, which I also feed raw). But I would imagine birds would be much more sensitive to anything on them than my dogs might be, so baking is a good idea. I had read that the baking was just to remove mineral oils put on the shell to help preserve the eggs and dry the shells out well, not to guard against salmonella. I just wash them out well with hot water, then store in the fridge until they're really dry. Then I grind them way down into a powder for the dogs...since I mix it with their raw food (one of my dogs can't have whole raw bones, so it replaces the calcium). It takes no time at all in the magic bullet to grind them to powder, if that's what you decide to do. I actually bought the food processor specifically to make dog food with (pulverizing veggies/chopping meat). I can't imagine using the MB for that...it would take me hours with those small quantities! :-)

Joe, A lot of your points are good, but whether intended or not, the basic tenor of your writing, to me, is a bit haughty and uninformed. It is not accurate to lump a restaurant in with a corner store, a gift shop, or a bank. If I buy a product from a store that is defective, or get treated rudely at a bank; I might get upset, ask for a replacement, or write a complaint; but I'll almost assuredly return. If I order breakfast and get soggy potatoes, that place will never see me again. To take the requirement of minutiae control away from each and every plate that leaves the kitchen, to focus on the big picture and the business plan, that restaurant takes the fast road to closure. To chock that up to ego or not letting go is ridiculous. Here's the day to day operation of a restaurant in a nut shell. For each 8 hour shift of operation, one spends 3/4 of it preparing for 1/4 of explosive reaction to the demands of the public; Prepping, cleaning, organizing, filling containers, inventory, ordering. And then for a two hour period, every bit of that preparation focus shifts to all-out barely controlled chaos. Afterwards, you clean up and do it all over again. You get one chance to respond correctly in that 2 hour period. If you blow it, any new customer will probably never return. Current customers will tolerate it to an extent but continue the trend and they're gone as well. In our example, we employed 25-30 people. To keep that level of quality control with that many employees you better have passion. That kind of passion in the restaurant business is damn hard to buy. 9 years of research on small businesses falls short of 40 dedicated years in one business, when it comes to analyzing the demands. We paid our employess more than any other restaurant in our town of over 100,000. We've had many managers. A great manager is eventually going to move on in this career path because greatness inevitably desires to expand and conquer. Anything less than true grit and passion loses customers to sliding quality and inconsistency. There aren't many small businesses that "enjoy" an arena this competitive. When a new place opens up three blocks away, you lose a portion of your business while they go check it out. This cycle is painful and difficult to deal with; employee count, inventory, under preparation of food or waste. Our product has a one day shelf life. When one bad employee steals, it hurts. When the manager spends 2 crucial hours washing dishes because someone just walked, the whole operation suffers- the scrutiny of perfection is lowered but the public expectations haven't changed a bit. When a spurious law suit can be leveled against the business by a crook but still costs 12,000 in legal expenses to WIN in court, above the high cost of liability insurance- trust me- one feels that pain in more than the wallet. To label this level of dedication to survive in a difficult environment, ego, as I said before, is absurd. I could go on and on, but at least felt compelled to speak from the perspective of the trenches of a real working restaurant. I know this came across a little pissy but my arm hairs bristled. I have one. When I first saw it on the infomercial I resisted buying it. Until one of my clients told me how she couldn't live without her Magic Bullet I bought one when it came on sale. Wish I could say I love mine but instead I was disappointed after hearing about all the hypes. To be fair, I am probably spoiled by the powerful blender I have. The big guy takes no more than 10 seconds to puree any fruit. I use it to make quick and dirty smoothie every morning. I tried the Magic Bullet but it didn't do as good a job. I tried blending on and off every 15 second but the banana still remained small chunks after almost a minute. So I tried using it to make peanut butter; didn't work neither. The nuts got stuck! Chopped the nuts, turned the Bullet over and banged it on the counter to loosen up the chunk of peanuts, chopped some more, banged it again. Took forever and I ended up adding olive oil to get the job done; still couldn't get it to the smooth consistency that I was after, just chunky. By the way, you need to buy an extra flat blade to make peanut butter. The blade that comes with the unit won't work. I only use the Bullet to mix straight liquid and powder these days. Sometimes I even use it to blend overly ripped bananas that had been frozen then thawed. That was the only way I could get smooth banana puree from the Bullet. For those who really love your Bullet, good for you. But as for me, it's a piece of equipment I could live without.

We bought a memory foam mattress from Costco because it was rated so high by Consumer Reports. We weren't sure we would like it and Costco has a super return policy. It came vacuum packed in a not too big box, but it weighed 130 pounds! I think getting it down narrow stairs wouldn't be much of a challenge, as long as you don't mind having your walls scuffed slightly. It has no stiff internal pieces. I think it would just be a matter of squishing and pushing/pulling.

Rhizo, it's a sale price, it's compared to $49.99.
I know it's not q Nutri-Bullet, another store has that on for $99.99. I'm not interested in spending near $100 for it, but $20, I would, for what we would use it for.

Chi you have a VitaMix? Wow. I know whole fruits and veggies can go into a VM and it grinds up the cores, seeds, etc.

I bought mine for $19.95 at one of the Christmas specials a few years back and I use it all the time....It's handy for small things and small jobs when you don't want to crank out the vitamix...Go for it Jas...I have never regretted buying mine.........

Well, I bit the bullet, so to speak. :)
It has 21 pcs, one container is a juicer, for soft fruits. I'm thinking I could do limes and lemon juices. Peel them first, I suppose. Drinking mugs, 2 cutting blades, etc.
And it's 300 Watts, so it should be powerful enough for what we want.

It looks like a nice set. The real test will be the power of the motor and the strength of the blades. Usually the more expensive ones have a much more powerful motor. I believe my Ninja is 700 watts, I have the Ninja kitchen system pulse.
The vitamix 5200 is 11.5 amp, 1380 watt motor.

so you see the really big difference there in the wattage that is where you will find the price differences.

but for small jobs it might be well worth it.

We have a few..the official and a couple of knock offs among my kids and I. The consensus is they are much the same....preferences for shapes and on off switches....I use mine for grinding coffee beans, the kids make smoothies....

The ninja is on sale this week at Canadian Tire. I have the Prep Pro and the larger system that you can make dough in. I also bought one for the summer home and have given this as gifts many times over. No one has complained. This takes the place of a blender and a food chopper. It makes ice cubes into almost snow in seconds.
Word of caution the blades are like razor blades as me how I know...hard to do dishes with five fingers in bandages.

I don't need a large unit. We don't crush ice cubes, nor need a 48-oz pitcher. The drinking cup size with this unit is perfect for a drink or smoothie. Making hummus, etc will be fine with this unit. I used to have a large blender but only used it for smoothies periodically. I have a food processor, and a small grinder that I use for grinding my flax seeds.
